Having learned that JCPenney now sells major appliances, my wife and I thought that we would check out what was available. We found a washer and dryer combo that we thought would suit our needs and spoke with Nina to get our order placed via the online store. Nina had some issues with the model number, as she entered it and the website changed the model number to a different, similar looking product. She selected it and assured us that this washer would be what we wanted based on the floor model - a GE 4.6 washer without a center agitator.
We jumped through all the hoops and did everything we needed to do, and we were initially told that delivery would take about a week. We placed the order on 11/29/17 - the washer and dryer did not show up until 12/22/17, about three weeks later. When the washer and dryer were dropped off, we realized that we had the correct dryer but the washer had a nice, thick agitator right in the center of it...exactly what we didn't want. We immediately (i.e. an hour after its delivery) called JCPenney customer service to get the washer returned and get what we wanted.
Their monotone, less than helpful customer service representative gave us no good information. She told us that GE would contact us within 48 hours to get the washer picked up, and that it would take 7-10 business days for the charge of the washing machine to come off our card. I knew that we would be waiting for a call for a while, since it was going to the Christmas weekend, but we have heard nothing from GE as of today (Thursday, 12/28/17). I called JCPenney customer service again today and spoke with a new representative (who was more helpful), but I was told again that it would take 48-72 hours for GE to contact me, but, with the New Years weekend approaching, "Give us a call if you don't hear anything by Wednesday."
We could be enjoying our new washer and dryer right now and not dealing with this three-ring circus of being on hold and waiting for a phone call if the in-store supervisor had done her job correctly the first time and ordered us the correct washer. Don't waste your time if buying big appliances - go to Lowes or Home Depot or somewhere reputable. We have the washer we wanted coming in from Lowes tomorrow (12/29/17), and we ordered it on 12/23/17. Fast delivery service, better customer service, and knowledgeable salespeople - three things you can't get from JCPenney. Go there for clothes, but skip the...
Read moreVery nice sales people. Friendly and helpful. Extremely clean. My father and I went on a special sale day and the parking lot was very crowded but the store is so big that it was able to accommodate every man, woman and child and you did not feel claustrophobic which was perfect for me as I have anxiety issues. The store was fantastically arranged. In other stores you have to walk back and forth to find the items that you want. But I started on the left side and it was all things for women. First the juniors than the women, then the mature women. Also on the right side they had women's sports wear. Every thing was properly laid out. Tank tops together, than pants, dresses ,sweaters and lingerie. I think that the only complaint I had was it was almost impossible to find the correct size in lingerie as people do not put things back where they are supposed to. The shoe department was laid out perfectly. It flowed up and down with the aisles. Almost everything in the store was on sale and if it was not you were given a ticket when you walked in that ranged from 30 to 50% off. I found the perfect sheet set which was 1000 count Egyptian cotton. It is so soft and comfortable. Feels like a luxury hotel. I do suggest that you wash it first as there is a stale odor. They come out of the dryer with absolutely no wrinkles whatsoever I got a mattress pad as well, which feels like a cloud. Please make sure to shop here so that we can business local and we don't have to...
Read moreWent to exchange an online order. Had to reorder a different size. I was given a refund for my suit onto a gift card, which was in turn going to be used right away to purchase the different size. The customer service person swiped the gift card and handed it to me, saying there is a 95 cent balance. I was given my receipts, and I left. On my way out of the store, I saw a hair brush I needed. I figured I would use up the rest of the gift card and pay the difference with cash. The cashier swiped the gift card and told me that after buying the brush, I still had over $30 balance! I was confused. A few hours later, I received an email saying my purchase of the different size suit did not go through, and I had to pay a different way. I called the # given in the email, and they said they couldn't see a balance of the gift card. So, I called the store. They informed me that the $ does not come off of the gift cards until the item ships. Why not tell me that when you hand me the gift card? Telling me there is 95 cents left tells me that the $ came off of the card, and I should have 95 cents on it only. So that is why there was a balance still on the gift card when I bought the brush and now not enough $ for the online item to go through. Now, I have to drive 30 miles back to the store to get this fixed. I do not plan on shopping...
