Had signed up for memberships for my kids online and went in on Friday for kids to jump. The guy who helped me was so distracted and talked so low it was hard to hear him. He logged 3 or my 4 kids in and gave me 3 wristbands and started to walk off. Had to inform him I had 4 kids. He got annoyed but finally got my 4th kids wristband. I tried to ask about socks, but he was walking away and told a girl to help me. I finally got socks from the little options they had. Almost all the sock cubes were empty, and the desk was a complete mess with wristbands and trash all over the place. I tried to ask the girl about the “Holiday Perks Passport” that was advertised on the website as a freebie with membership but she was clueless and said she’d go ask. She walked away as I got my kids set up. She came back like 5 minutes later and still didn’t have an answer. She walked away again then came back with a drink and just standing around. Tried to ask again as she just looked around saying “ummm… I don’t know uhh…” They had a huge stack of them laying on the counter so I know they still have but never could get anyone to answer me if we got them with our new membership or not. We have been to the location before but I’m now rethinking our membership. First off, they moved the cubes right next to the tables which is the worst thought ever. Let’s move people changing shoes and socks right in the same area as people trying to eat snacks. Of course, the snack area looked like it hadn’t been stocked for weeks. I put a drink on a table, and it completely dropped to one side. They only take cards now, most likely because money was disappearing. Of course, now since teens don’t have cards usually the workers are just giving out fountain drinks instead. The place is a complete mess. Both trash bins outside were overfilling with trash. Walking in there were socks and trash all over the lobby area. The blue shoe bibs were all over in the hallway of the bathroom. The bathroom was disgusting and smelled. Pads on several tramps were coming off. Employees are too busy talking or on their phones to help customers or clean. Teenagers are running all over making it hard for smaller kids to play safely. We were there almost 2 hours and the whole time I saw one employee come up onto the tramp floor and it was to bring a mop to clean up a mess. Which was also only cleaned because a parent complained about it. Never even saw an employee checking wristbands. Of course, they were all just hanging out around the check in counter. Cons- Multiple things closed or broken. (Including all the torn-up dodgeballs laying all around.) The staff are unfriendly and have no desire to actually work. Of course, doesn’t look like a single adult works there to direct these kids on what to be doing. The place is a mess with trash and dirt all over. Good luck trying to get answers on any promotions. Also only excepts cards now which is just wrong for any business to demand. Pros- My kids like to jump and this is the only jump place in Nampa or Caldwell. In just the last few months this place has completely ran itself...
Read moreHad my son's birthday party here... Their party structure is awful. The fact that you don't get your party room or tables until the end of the party creates a lot of confusion for party goers. When our guests checked in, they had no idea where to find us, or where to put their gifts. This fact alone would prevent me from having a party here ever again. BUT that's not even the worst part of our party experience! It was a disaster from start to finish!
Upon checking in, I was told I had a party host (they didn't tell me their name or anything) and that they would come get us when our room and food was ready. I asked where we were supposed to put our stuff..they pointed at a group of shelves with names on them. None of them had my son's name on it, so I asked which one do I use, they said "just pick one" so I asked if they could put his name on one so there wasn't any confusion and they handed me a highlighter to write on the sign. We literally crossed another name off and wrote his under it.
Then, when the time came that we were supposed to go to our party room, we hadn't been approached by anyone. We waited about 15min past our room time and finally asked the desk. They asked who my party host was...I had never been told who it was! They told me they were going to grab our host, and that he would take us to our room. Minutes go by and no one comes back out. They finally come out and take us to the room. They were still cleaning up after another party and setting up our place settings. They kept saying they had a bunch of parties and got behind. Fine, I understand things happen. But, they had no idea what we had ordered as far as food and drink. We were told our host would decorate the room, all he did was put plates and cups down. He literally handed me a paper bag with the water bottles and stickers that were supposed to be put on the table for the kids that was included in our party package..we ended up having to decorate ourselves, well after our party room time was supposed to start! They brought in one pizza (we had ordered 4) and informed me that they were out of cheese and had to go to the store to buy some! It would be at least another 30-40 min for anymore pizzas. One at a time, we got our pizzas, with at least 20min between each one arriving, and each time they would ask how many pizzas we had ordered. We had to serve our guests in shifts as each pizza arrived.
The manager, Melissa tried really hard to rectify the situation by giving us a discount on our party and giving the kids extra drinks and cotton candy, which I totally appreciated. She also assigned us another party host. But the whole shitshow we experienced made us not want to ever return. The whole place is ran by teenagers who seem to not care about their job. Melissa the manager seemed to be the only adult in the whole place. There definitely needs to be better training and accountability with the staff. We won't...
Read moreFirst time at "Defy Boise, Trampoline Park" Thoughtful reflection: I think a more appropriate name would be "Defy Boise, Pit Park."
When we walked in for a 6 year old party on a late Saturday afternoon, (11/19/22) it was a madhouse of people, noise and trash. First impression: I was overwhelmed and wanted to leave!!! There were bits of trash all over the entrance and main floor. The building wasn't large enough, or set up, to absorb a lot of sound so the decibel was definitely above safety levels.
•We located our family upon entering on the main floor at the round tables and chairs. I was thankful for several couch clusters - small red low profile three sitter couches arranged in threes back to back. •The waiver check in was easy with the scanner. •To their credit, after being there for an hour and a half, I noticed a staffer pushing a push duster on the main floor to collect all the bits of trash (a lot of tags dropped from the sticky bottom socks used in the activity area).
Activity Area Impression: I was excited about attending because I had experienced another trampoline place on numerous occasions in East Treasure Valley that's now shut down and wanted to find a new place to go for trampolining. I love trampolines, as I grew up using one in my back yard, so naturally I was disappointed that Defy doesn't have many trampoline options for a "trampoline park." •There were at least two huge square inflated pads that I found usually empty of use. •A large area in the middle of the activity area was devoted to a fenced-in cushioned floor "basketball" space that was constantly packed with players while there. •There was also a screened in dodgeball area on six trampolines. This also was occupied with people 100% of the time while we were there. Never got a chance to use it with so few trampolines and the masses of people present. •There were fall-in pits with square foam that mostly little kids enjoyed. Defy has more pits than trampolines. I find pits difficult and annoying to crawl out of, so don't use them. •There was also an area that looked like an obstacle course but it was under construction.
We were there for at least 3 hours. 2hrs of activity and 1 hr for the private party which was in an established fenced in area on a second story platform. I also noticed an enclosed room on the same level as the main floor for the same purpose. The 2 "private" fenced areas had picnic style tables and a bench along the fences where one could overlook the whole interior of the building.
The long metal picnic tables were covered with a colorful plastic table cloth. Colorful plates, utensils and napkins along with clear plastic cups on the table. Pizza and pitchers of soda was the establishment fare and our host brought veggie and charcuterie trays.
As an attendee, the staff was pleasant, present and helpful. They checked in on our private party needs from time to time. Probably 20...
