Listen to the one star reviews here and do not rent from this company. We rented a house from this company last month and experienced nothing but issues the entire stay, including but not limited to: major leaking in the home, broken appliances, a bed that collapsed while we were sleeping, a pool that did not heat despite us paying the full amount to heat it, rats outside the property, filthy rugs, etc. While the company did provide some solutions and sent out a handy man, they avoided our attempts to speak to management. They never called us despite multiple requests for a phone call and eventually sent us an email telling us that, because the home was not uninhabitable, they would not refund us but would offer us $250 as a courtesy, contingent on us NOT WRITING A REVIEW!! Our entire stay we could not figure out how the property had such glowing reviews when it was frankly dirty and outdated—now we know it’s because they withhold refunds to avoid anyone leaving a negative review. Our family has been renting in Marco for years and we will never use this company again.
Response to Marco Naples Vacation Rentals 1/23/24 Response:
To recap based on your own responses — you acknowledge that the washing machine was broken (we went without one for 5 days into an 8 night rental). The bed collapsed (at 2am dumping me onto the floor at 6 months pregnant). The appliances were missing and or broken which took several days to fix our replace. Our roof leaked, which you repaired AFTER we left (Apparently the defense of “it’s Florida” only applies to wildlife and not the amount of rain Florida gets). In addition to the wet rugs, the other rugs were stained and damaged to the point that you needed to replace them after we left. I will gladly let everyone reading this decide if they feel that’s an acceptable number of things to go wrong for an expensive one-week rental.
The larger issue, which you either continue to miss or choose to ignore, was your response (or lack thereof) afterwards. The staff from your office that we initially spoke to were great. The gentleman that came out to fix some of the issues in the home was also great. We understand that sometimes things happen. However, we felt that this was beyond the scope of normal. We should never have had to spend this much time during a one week vacation dealing with issues. We were told that a manager would call us back. Despite several requests and calls to your office we are STILL waiting to hear back from a manager. Instead of receiving a call, we received an email several weeks later telling us that since the house was not “inhabitable” we were not intitled to any compensation. However, you would give us $250 dollars if we did not mention any of our issues in a review and sign a form stating such. Funny how you forgot to mention this in your response to my initial review. My question is—why would you be willing to give us $250 if you felt that all of this was acceptable? Why have us sign something agreeing not to write about it? Why would you feel that paying us a couple hundred dollars was necessary if the state of this rental was acceptable?
You also told us the property had “great reviews”, which I would imagine is based on your policy of paying people not to write to bad ones. Unfortunately, they probably signed your form so we will never know. I am just reporting the facts of the situation which you gratefully acknowledged. I will let everyone reading this decide if this is the type of company they wish to do...
Read moreI have being renting houses on the island for 20 years and have been completely satisfied. Our rental that we rented was damaged by the hurricane and I was notified by Marco Vacation Rentals and was given a full refund and was offered any other rentals they had available. My husband and son and law love to stay on the river so this was the only house available and we were willing to pay $1000.00 more for the view and the fishing opportunities. Even though we only needed three bedrooms. I had talk to Katelyn many times and making sure this house had not been flooded and the pool was cleaned and was ready to rent. The last conversation we had she said she just left the house the pool had been emptied and filled and new landscaping was being put in. When we pulled up to the house there was a sectional, refrigerator, mirror and many other things out front of the house noted this house had not been flooded. The pool was dirty, no chemicals in pool, sand and leaves all over the bottom of the pool. The trash cans were completely full. And the side yards where unbelievable. The walk way to the dock was non existing due to leaves, boards, trash and hoses all over the place. The only issue Katelyn told me that there was a board loose at the dock. (my husband went and bought a hammer and fixed). The pool was cleaned on Monday, we were not able to use until Monday afternoon. The trash out front was cleaned up on Thursday evening but the refrigerator is still there. The trash out front was put out knowing the house was being rented and had nothing to do with the hurricane it was a sectional that was replaced 4 months ago per Katelyn, the homeowners was just using the hurricane situation to get rid of it. Every time we pulled up to the house the smell was horrible. Even neighbors were complaining.
I also had a 4 year old grandson there, the outside of this house is UNSAFE for children. I cannot believe the rental company or homeowners would take on liability of renting this house in the condition that it is. (See Pictures below).
Management told me there was nothing they could do unless the house was deemed completely uninhabitable. The outside was completely uninhabitable in my opinion. I hope this help someone else from renting this property and ruining there vacation as it did ours. Marco Island is a beautiful island and for a home owner and rental company to rent something in this condition is unbelievable. The realtor was trying to blame the Hurricane for the issues these issues have been there for years.... DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE 313 POLYNESIA CT. MARCO...
Read moreTerrible customer service! We rented a house with this company for 2 weeks- February 8- 22, 2025. We had about an 11 hour drive to Marco Island, so we left on Friday to split trip up.On Friday, I called the rental agency to ask if we could check in a little early on Saturday. Called at 12:15 and left a message. No one ever called me back. Knowing they closed at 5:00 and are not open on Saturdays, I kept calling..no answer. Emailed them….never heard back. On Saturday, we got in the house at 4:00. Come to find out, the house we rented is for sale. No one ever told us. Went on market, after we booked the house. Wouldn’t you think there would be some kind of warning?? Second week we are there,on Monday, I get a text from Katelyn at rental agency that someone would like to show house on Tuesday from 10-12. I said closer to 12 would be okay because we would probably go out to lunch. She texted back and said they needed to show it no later than 10:30. She also said if this didn’t suit, they could reschedule. I texted back and said if they could reschedule, that would be great. Had I know this house was on the market, we would have rented another house. Did not hear anything else back. Tuesday morning, we decide not to go out to lunch and just hangout at the house (there were 6 of us). At 12:00, realtor shows up with family of 4 to see house. I told him that I had texted Katelyn to reschedule. They came in and it was a brief showing. One of the family members remarked that they are only interested in renting, not buying house!! I called Katelyn after they left, and all she could say was that since i originally said 12:00, she thought it would be okay to tell them it was okay to look at house. Then she said she would let management know. Never heard from them!! Would never rent from these...
