After being referred to uBreakiFix by Google Support for my Pixel 8 Pro that got wet (it fell in a lake in the middle of my trip to Italy 3 weeks prior), making an appointment online with their website, and driving 3 hours from Vermont, the employees of the Nashua, NH uBreakiFix store could best be described as "aggressively unhelpful."
They said my online-scheduled noon appointment that day meant nothing and they didn't have time to work on my phone, despite the website promising same day service with an appointment. They then said they don't work on water damaged phones at all and that I was wasting my time (despite "water damage repair" being a service offered on their website and Google Support specifically telling me this was the closest store to me--3 hours from home-for water damage repair). Since the phone would still show a battery icon when plugged in, it just wouldn't charge, I suspected the only issue was the battery. When I said I wanted to take a chance and replace the battery, and I would pay for it out of pocket, regardless of whether it was successful in fixing the phone, they said they didn't have time and I'd have to leave my phone with them for days. So, what was the point of making an online appointment then where same day repair is promised? When I asked them if they could ship the phone back to me after repair since I lived 3 hours away, they literally scoffed in my face and said "No we don't do that." Reaching the point of exasperation with their negativity, they told me to go to a different store.
So I drove 30 more minutes to the uBreakiFix in Salem, NH. I'm glad I DID try a different store because the Salem, NH location was 100% more friendly, did the repair I asked without any hassle whatsoever, said they would do a specific water damage cleaning, and SUCCESSFULLY FIXED MY PHONE and saved my vacation photos. They made the process easy and were very accommodating in offering a way to ship the phone back to me since I live 3 hours away from the store. I'm so grateful for their hard work! Thank you, Salem uBreakiFix!
Thanks for nothing,...
Read moreSeveral months ago my phone started to not charge correctly, all of my various charging cables simply would no longer connect. I contacted tech support and they agreed that the charging port should be replaced, also the screen was cracked. I called uBreakiFix and made an appointment, they said they had to order the part. I phoned the morning of the appointment and verified the part had arrived. When I went to the store they verified again that all the parts had arrived. I left my phone at about noon and was told to return around closing time (7pm) to collect the phone I returned at 7pm and the phone had a new screen so I assumed the charging port had been replaced as well, I was happy with that and I bought a new charger and cord just in case the problem was all of my cords at home . I went home and tried my cables and the new charger/cable and none of them would charge my phone. So aside from having a nice new un-cracked screen, nothing had changed.
The following day I returned to the store, gave my phone to the gentleman there and explained that it still was not charging. He immediately looked into the charging port and said "I see your problem, this thing is full of dust" and started digging dust out with a little metal tool. I explained that the charging port was supposed to have been changed yesterday and I find it hard to believe that it somehow got packed full of dust from the time I picked it up till the time I got it home to test my cords. He seemed to think it was possible and spent a solid 2 minutes digging dust critters out of my phone charging port. He then very kindly showed me that at least a couple of cords would connect and charge the phone.
So my bad for not checking my charging port for dust but it's pretty obvious that they didn't replace the charging port as they were contracted to, and paid to do, by my insurance company. I am happy that I can charge my phone again but some would call that...
Read moreI brought my phone with a minorly cracked screen in on June 15th around 4 p.m. I knew they closed at 7, however their website advertised 2 hour screen repairs so I popped in. They said they had the time, and I made it clear that if they didn't I would be right in the plaza so to just give me a call. I popped back over at 6:30 having not heard from them and they informed me that my phone wouldn't be ready until noon the next day. I left unhappy but dismissed it as a miscommunication. Came back at noon the next day, and the staff member I had been working with said it still wasn't ready and maybe would be another hour and a half, but that was just an estimate. I went back at 2 p.m and they informed me that they crashed the motherboard on my phone. They proceeded to charge me $300 for the repair, and I paid as I figured they replaced the screen (looked later and they did not). He said my replacement phone would be in in about a week and I asked if it was a brand new phone because I didn't want a refurbished one. The staff member told me it would be, and said he appreciated my being so nice. I come back in a week later to get my "new" phone and it was already out of the box in the managers hand. I asked again if this was a brand new phone and he said that there was no such thing, and that all phones are refurbished. Then I brought up the matter of why I was charged for them to break my phone AND not do the initial repair. The manager said it was technically them fixing my phone by giving me a "new" one a week later opposed to the 2 hour repair I had went there for and refused to even issue a partial refund for my MAJOR inconvenience. I then called customer service who was equally as useless, and said they were sorry that I was dissatisfied and that they'd let their higher up knows it happened so it wouldn't happen again. 1 star is far too much to rate this place, and I wouldn't even recommend my worst enemy...
