5 stars for the 2 ladies who knew what customer service is all about. Zero stars (if I could ) for the Manager and the male employee who I asked for help and he declined for “liability” reasons. Oh, and zero star for the lady who waited on us and who by the way we tipped more than a 20% . Here’s our story ... So I took my friend and her son out for dinner - it was her birthday. She was not feeling too well and she took some prescription medication before we stepped out. As soon as we sat down and placed our orders she said she was drowsy and she could hardly sit up. I informed our waitress about her condition and told her we would rather take our food away. After she dropped of the food and I tipped her she just left without offering any help even though she clearly saw my friend lay her head on the table because she could not sit up. I went over to the entrance to seek help from the gentleman who was at the door but didn’t find him - so I went to the the bar and asked the bar tender (she would eventually be the rock star of longhorn at Amherst NH). She called the gentleman and I explained to him my that my friend had just taken ill and I needed help to walk her to the car since she could not walk by herself. When we got to the table my friend asked us to give her a couple of minutes to gather some energy to stand up. It was then the guy left only to come back a few minutes later to inform me that his manger instructed him not to help becuase of liability. I was shocked but kept my cool. Then came 2 ladies - I believe one of them was the bartender I had spoken to earlier when I was looking for help from the gentleman. What she told me totally blew my mind - she said “I heard the guys say they can’t help you but we are here to help”. Wow. These ladies get it. That’s what customer service is all about. To be there for your customers not only when it is convenient for ythe employee! The manger and his male employee both forgot that the ethics of the employees reflect the overall values of the Longhorn steakhouse - they failed uphold the values of Longhorn tonight, and sadly so! To the ladies who offered help even though the organization may not have that in their code of ethics, BRAVO! I will certainly be back there just because I want you to stay employed.!!! Thanks to the 2 ladies for your help - I apologize I should have asked your names but I forgit because of the situation. But you know who you are! Thank you. You absolutely rock!! Any employer will be glad to have...
Read moreTook my mom out to eat 7pm after I worked a 14 hour day. Waited about 15 minutes to be sat, no big deal. Waited 10 minutes for our waitress to come and ask if we would like to order drinks. She was very abrupt. Ordered our appetizer as well. She brought our drinks back, and rushed off again. Someone else brought our appetizer out. 25 minutes later she came back to take our order, (which should have been done right after she put our app in) and rushed us through that as well. She dropped our food off, and never came back to ask how anything was or if we needed anything else. We had to flag down another waitress for a drink refill. Flagged her down and asked for a couple to go containers, she brought back one. She should have dropped the check off as well. Had to ask another server for two more containers and the check. I don’t know if this waitress doesn’t like her job, co-workers, or whatnot, but customer service is the business. The food was fantastic, our waitress, not so much!
Hands down I would recommend the food here…that poor waitress needs a break. What she did not get was a 50-75% tip on the bill, which I normally tip!
(There was a waitress that I would like to commend which is important. As a manager in retail, [I wish I asked for her name] there was a dirty blond waitress with glasses, maybe 24-27 yrs old, who was totally up beat and praising/pushing and supporting the other waitresses. Thank you for being such a supportive upbeat coworker! You were seen and recognized! I...
Read moreWent there last evening because of this filet mignon hankering I’d been having all day. My whole visit was a disappointment.
Waitress: rude and thoughtless. I told her I was looking to get a filet mignon, and she pointed me to Flo’s Filet, which certainly LOOKS like a filet mignon on the menu, and I ordered that. When it arrived, it didn’t look anything like the menu. After cutting into it initially, I accepted the steak, but as I cut into the beast it was clear that it was mostly grizzly. It was an awful impersonation of a filet mignon.
I called her back and asked for the bill because I was going to leave without eating it. When I voiced my complaint, she went into this routine (as if this wasn’t her first time dishing out jive), about how even though it says it’s a “filet”, it doesn’t say it’s a “ filet mignon”. How could those words come out of anyone who works at a STEAKHOUSE???
So I left the place, went to Texas Roadhouse instead, and got a real steak.
I’m somewhat disappointed because I’ve eaten at Longhorns all over the country INCLUDING Flo’s Filet for a very long time, and never had a problem.
So to be clear, I’m giving it a single star because of the wrong steak being served, and the snarky waitress who orchestrated it.
Do yourself a favor…just find another steakhouse. This longhorn is NOT worth the effort or expense, at least this one...
