Himalaya Curry house is well located in New Hampshire with prime shopping malls around. My experience with this restaurant has been some what disappointing due to following factors: Cons: Hospitality: We didn't make prior reservation as it was last minute decision, but when asked if it was mandatory for prior reservation the restaurant manager said " its ok, but next time don't forget" the tone sounded like old school teacher. Seating: Round tables are really bad for any restaurant just imagine its was for 4 people and it was like rectangular booth, it was so hard to eat for everyone. It felt like we were on the edge of the table. Food: Primary reason for any one to come to Indian Restaurant is to try those dishes which we cannot make it at home. The Paneer Butter masala and Malai Kofta both had same exact gravy and no difference in the taste. The kofta balls was frozen obviously and weren't cooked inside. The vegetable Biryani has frozen vegetables which you can easily identify the way they are cut, probably from Walmart or Market basket. If that's what we are paying for, why do we even have to come to restaurant ? We can get the same or even better food at home. Last but not the least when asked for suggestions on the bread, they suggested to take Latcha Paratha and that resulted in under cooked and dull tasting bread. I have ate at better places and better tasting food for same price. Serving: The biryani was filled to the brim of the dish plate and hardly any space for the serving spoon to move, every dish has a specific way of serving based on the nature of the dish so that its easy and manageable to serve. This restaurant need to choose the serving better.
PROs: The papad served while waiting for the main course was really good and appreciate the restaurant for serving...
Read moreOne of the best Nepali/ Indian restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. The portion sizes were good, the price of the dishes on point and the service was second to none.
I had made a reservation for 5 just to make sure I was complying to the restaurants COVID policies with social distancing and other restrictions in place. You just don’t wanna show up with your friends at a restaurant and then be told to leave because of no available tables due to the ongoing pandemic (believe me this happens at some places) so I thought to cover my bases. As soon as we showed up, they had our table ready and we were enticed with their complementary fried papad and variety of chutney. It was a nice touch.
The menu at this place is huge. There’s wide range of Nepali cuisine along with Indian cuisine. We had lamb rogan josh, lamb curry, kadhai paneer, vegetable biryani, naan and mango lassi. All the dishes were tasty. The lamb rogan josh was a little miss considering my Indian background but nevertheless, tasted good. The lamb pieces were soft and delicious. The paneer kadhai was also fantastic.
A great restaurant discovery in the end I’d say for us. I’d definitely try this again if I...
Read moreThe Himalayan Curry House restaurant is a true gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and the rich, inviting aroma of spices that instantly made our mouths water. The host/waitress was extremely welcoming and, best of all, took the time to explain the entire menu in detail, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
The menu offers a fantastic variety of traditional Indian dishes, and every item we ordered was bursting with authentic flavor. The Tikka Masala Lamb was creamy and perfectly spiced, the Shrimp Do-Piazza was fragrant and cooked to perfection, and the Peshawari naan soft, warm, and addictive was the perfect complement to our meal.
The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the dishes. The ambiance is cozy yet vibrant, with beautiful Indian decor that adds to the charm of the dining experience.
If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine served with heart, this place is a must visit. We’ll definitely be...
