First the skate shop is amazing. They have so much inventory and an actual little skate track that's in the middle of the sales floor. I'm 37 and it was the first time I'd ever been to a real skate shop that focused on inlines and I was blown away. They also had a great selection of quads and skateboards which is really cool.
Steve remeasured my feet and confirmed I had purchased a skate that was too big. I had came to have the plastic shell of my Imperial boot punched out so my dumb foot bone could have some more room. He informed me that sometimes plastic shells have a harder time with a punch and it may not stay forever but was willing to help me in a desperate situation after travelling for nearly 3 hours thanks to weather and traffic and weather related traffic. He also recommended that I get the 3mm version of the Ezeefit bootie since the ultra slim didn't help me. Also got some waxed laces and safety equipment and a set of 4 smaller wheels so I could try a full rockered setup.
I finally got to skate last night and the wound on my take ankle bone still had a scab on it, but for the first time in months since i got these skates I was able to go hard for 2.5 hours with no pain, no blood and no worries if I'd be healed up enough to skate a week from today. I cannot explain how happy that made me. My already wounded foot suffered no consequences when I took the chance to skate again before I was fully healed. Amazing.
Steve is a no BS kind of guy with a dry sense of humor and a wealth of knowledge that only comes with decades of experience. His shop is unique, fairly priced and a joy to visit. The ladies on his staff were phenomenal as well and very eager to help me figure out a solution to my dumb foot problem. I read other reviews, most of which are glowing, but to the few people that came out of there with a bad impression the best advice I can give is that Steve will tell you want you need, and it may not necessarily be what you want to hear, but he's almost certainly correct.
If you skate inlines or quads, this is your mecca in Tennessee. I can't explain how much joy I had last night leaving the rink and knowing that I'll be able to skate again in a day or two. Support this local business....
Read moreThey say they're the largest skate shop in the southeast but what they didn't mention is that they're also probably the friendliest and most considerate! I was coming into the sport as a complete noobie who just wanted to roller blade on some asphalt. When I was a child, I had skated before during birthday parties at the local rink with quad skates but wasn't very good at it nor actually touched a proper roller blade.
So when I came in with no real idea of what I was looking for, the crew there were instantly welcoming and knowledgeable. And, while I was trying on some roller blades they recommended, they even gave me some great beginner tips and advice for starting out. I've been in other sports related stores where it feels like they try to squeeze every penny out of you selling you gear you don't really need, but this was not the case at all with these guys. Everything they recommended fit great (I have decently wide feet), was comfortable, and useful (I'm so glad I bought their wrist pads).
Lastly, on a more personal note, it's not often I see retail environments where the people didn't look miserable or bored but this group actually seems to enjoy what they do which I believe truly reflects in their quality of service.
I can't speak for anyone's buying experience as a professional skater but for anyone looking to get into the sport I absolutely...
Read moreIf ever there were a shop that deserved full marks, it is this one. The staff are not merely competent but outstanding—friendly, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable about every aspect of skates. Their expertise turns what might otherwise be a bewildering purchase into a straightforward, even pleasant experience.
The selection is another triumph. This is no cluttered store full of indifferent products. Instead, they offer a range of mid- to upper-level skates, carefully curated for quality and performance. The inclusion of a small track for testing the skates is a simple yet brilliant touch—practical, thoughtful, and clearly designed with the customer in mind.
As for prices, they stand toe-to-toe with any online retailer. But unlike the faceless, automated process of internet shopping, here you receive service—real service—that ensures what you buy is exactly what you need.
This is more than just a skate store; it is a rare example of a business that understands how to combine quality, expertise, and customer care. If such places were more common, the world of retail would be a better one. A Truly...
