Best selection I have found in the area regarding the classics. If you are looking for local retro games and peripherals that are older than what you can find at places like GameStop, then this is your place. You can find genuine N64 controllers that have original joysticks with little to no wear, or modded controllers can be found. A whole section filled with PS One originals, things for NES, SNES, Atari, handhelds, and their merch is priced accordingly due to condition. Walking in and looking around is like a huge nostalgia trip to years past.

Prices are what you would expect for a locally owned business and are pretty comparable with other brick and mortar stores in the area. Sometimes they are lower, sometimes they are higher.

Sure, you can go to the Internet and buy gear for less, but that goes for pretty much any item you want to purchase. If you can name it, it is probably cheaper on eBay or online somewhere. There are trade offs for buying local or online, but if you're like me, when it comes to older consoles, games, and especially controllers, being able to inspect used items in person is invaluable to any description you could put online. And for any reason the product doesn't work, within 24 hours I can swap it out for another. If I bought it online, it could be a while before I get a replacement, or if it is sold "as-is" well, good luck.

If there were some things I would improve about the place, It would probably be the return policy and overall atmosphere of the store. I haven't had to return anything for money back yet, but I am aware of how it works if I had to. Currently you get store credit back if you want to return something, no money back. Fine for used games, but if it is new and the package is still sealed, I believe at least a 7 day return policy, 30 day exchange with receipt would be fair. It would make it easier for someone who buys something like a console, but has an emergency and needs to return it for money to pay for say, a medical expense or car repair. Exchanging things out is quite easy if you keep the receipt until you test the game at home. If it doesn't work, bring it back and another will be swapped out.

As far as the atmosphere, some music, game review vods, or even broadcasting a game tournament from twitch on the TV they have on the wall would do wonders for livening the place up. Most of the time, a moderately annoying and monotonous drone is the only thing heard, and seems to come from the A/C fan unit the building uses and gets louder or softer depending on where you stand in the store. It can make it feel a bit boring. The layout is fine, but the colors they use make the place feel darker than it actually is, even though the lighting is actually quite good. The employees could be a little peppier, but overall, your store is always the best salesman and the foundation shapes the rest of what you build. Brighten the mood of the store and so will the mood of the people in it. The guys there are a bit introverted but have a wealth of information on games. And can be quite personable and helpful if you have questions about a game or item you are looking for.

Overall at this time, the store gets a 4.5/5 and is still the best one stop shop to buy used games locally in and around Nashville. With a few improvements, it would be...

I spent over $250 in this place on a Nintendo 64 and some peripherals for it. I bought so much that the manager gave me a deal where I got some of the games on a buy 2 get 1 free deal. I'm happy and excited to get home to try out some of the old video games from my childhood. It turned out that some of the games didn't work and I simply didn't like a couple of the others. I look their return policy up online and it states that if you absolutely hate a pre-owned game you can't get cash back but you can exchange it for full value for something else within a week. I'm thinking cool, I'll just go back tomorrow and get something else. Nope. It turns out that one of the games I wanted to return was one of the "free" ones. The guy told me he would just give me the $2 credit for the game to use along with $3 credit for another game I was returning. I go pick out another $50 game and pay the difference. I get home and look at the receipt and notice that he only gave me credit for the $3 game. So not only did he not give me the $2 credit for the "free" game. He also KEPT the game. So I brought a product back to the store to exchange and not only did they NOT exchange it, they outright STOLE it back from me and gave me nothing in return. When I tried to explain the poor customer service to the gentleman he said "F* you! I'm done with you." All this over $2!!! I actually manage a store that is part of a large worldwide chain that is in the same industry. We often do buy 2 get 1 free sales. When a customer returns one of the free products we don't give them cash but we give them the full value of the free product to use in the store. So let's say a customer buys 2 $20 products and gets a 3rd $20 product for free. If the one that they didn't like and want to return just happened to be the free game, we still allow them to return it for something else of the same value. We lose no money on the sale because we're getting the product back to sell for $20 and we're providing excellent customer service at the same time. Customer service is what brings people back into your establishment. Apparently this retailer doesn't feel the need for returning customers. Besides, Great Escape and GameStop down the road is cheaper and gives customers more money for what they trade in anyway. They lost a high spending customer over $2. Some people just don't...

Went in there Saturday to pick up 2 game cube controllers for my WII. The guy insisted that the classic controller would suffice. I said that we needed the controller to be able to plug into the system as we only have 1 WII-mote. He once again insisted the classic controller would work. I took his word for it as he is the expert and purchased the items. Got home and the classic controller only plugged into the WII-mote. Our kids played the game that we had intended to play as a family. We drove all the way back out there from Fairview on Sunday after my husband called and asked if we could return them. The employee said we could exchange them. My husband then restated that we wanted a refund and he said bring them back with your receipt. By the time we got there it was raining so my husband when in to handle the transaction since I'm pregnant and wasn't feeling good. He comes back out a few minutes later with a store credit. I went back in and asked for an explanation as to why were told to bring the items back with receipt when my husband specifically asked for a REFUND if that was against store policy. The employee tried to explain something that didn't make sense. I then let the employee know that we specifically asked for something else anf was sold a product that did not do what we needed. He tried to reiterate the policy and I let him know I, as a consumer, shouldn't be punished for his employees error. After going back and forth a few times I finally asked for the information on how to contact the owner. At this point the guy said that he would go ahead and refund me the cash just this once. I assumed him that I wouldn't be shopping there again. He gave me the refund and I left. I just don't understand a retail business that sells customers the wrong product. That is dishonest and disrespectful to the person who is keeping your...

I'm from east TN bought 2 games here neither work. one was a $30 use copy of samurai warriors out of their case. I live 4 hours away. Update 5/11: as you can see in the response the owner said I can mail the return in. I mailed the return back to them along with my phone number and have heard nothing from them. They currently have my money and the games I bought that are not even refurbishable. Update 5/16: Owner made it right. Giving 2 stars back. Leaving 2 stars off because the shop does not have a ps2 to test games. I find this odd because they could have gotten one on trade in for $50-$60.

If you had to send your grandma somewhere to pick up a game this is the place. These guys are very knowledgeable and nice to talk with. Imagine having every console that you played as a kid in front of you ready for you to jump back in time and live those moments again. I’ve loved being able to find those titles that I never got to play as well as all the newest titles. Excellent small business that needs to stay around for many years. A++.
