Pollo Campero — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

The folks working here are very nice and accommodating. Be aware that some don't speak English though that is not important to me. One of the managers helped us with our order and she was fully bilingual. The service from the kitchen is very slow and it can take 15 minutes to bring your food out. This is fast-food chicken so it should be much more efficient and streamlined than it is. I also didn't care for the atmosphere. Cleanliness was below average with tables and floors that seemed sticky. I ordered a 3-piece grilled meal, with a breast piece (which is an extra $1). The manager had to check to see if there was a breast available! There was one fortunately, and it was plump and juicy when I ate it. My wife had a very generous, thick fried chicken sandwich that she really enjoyed. I had a bite and it quite good. We both had platanos which were spot on and served in generous portions. One of my sides was cole slaw which was creamy and fresh, but I felt it had too much onion flavor. My wife liked it more than I did. Lastly, I found my 3-piece chicken well made but much too salty. I know that in general the public likes salty flavors but this was too much for me.

In summary, we liked the staff and the effort. The kitchen is quite slow getting food out so it pays to be patient. Most of the food was good- I recommend the fried chicken sandwich and platanos- though I feel their grilled chicken recipe is a bit too salty. The restaurant itself feels kind of icky/sticky which was a bit of a turn off. Had the speed and atmosphere been better, I would have...

Pollo Campero is good! I can't believe it's taken almost 10 years for me to try it. I always pass by this chain and think about going inside but don't. Today, that changed! I tried the Spicy Chicken sandwich with a side of Sweet Plantains. The seasonings used in the chicken were really good and different from other chain chicken joints. There was this sauce on the sandwich that was so yummy, and I could even taste and crunch on the garlic bits (small, not large) in the sauce. I don't usually like pickles on my sandwich, but the pickles actually complimented the other flavors with its briney-ness. And of course, you can't go wrong with plantains. The plantains tasted just like if you were to get them at a Carribean or African joint. Though I had read some of the reviews on GoogleMaps, I didn't expect much different from another fast food chain, but I really like it. I will definitely come back to try other menu items.

I visited this place today. They quoted my price wrong, as if i cant count. After having to do the math, for them, they quoted it correct. The meal came to 10.38. I gave them 20.40. They still tried to give the wrong change. When i confronted them and told them they owed me 1.02..the little boy at the window tried to argue the amount i gave him. Very unprofessional. Instead arguing with a kid, i asked for the manager..which he did not address me..but gave me 1.00..i told tgem i wanted all my change..so anothr manager cam and took more time to give me all my money. I wont be going bk to this place..nor my family. I dnt hv to lie about my money..bcz ur employees cnt count. Plus ur customer service sucks. Treating the customer like they are liars us not acceptable, esp when there so many bettr tasting chicken places in the area. If i could give this place a zero..i wud. This is the 2nd time yall hv messed up and been at fault and tried to blame the customer. I wish i could give this...
