Everywhere I travel, I try sushi and Sapporo is still the best. I've been coming here since I was first able to drive. There's no finer sushi for the price. I'm convinced. The atmosphere at Sapporo is friendly, and the scenery is calming. I love sitting at the booths or the bar, depending on mood. The sushi chefs have always been so kind to me, ever since I was a young teenager working my first job in Rivergate. But I guess the most important thing about Sapporo is the food? I have full faith in pretty much everything on this menu, but let's talk specifics. The sushi is wonderful. Unlike amateur sushi restaurants, each sushi has a unique flavor. You never feel like you're eating the same recycled ingredients. Balance is key here. Each roll is like a delicate work of art! I'd be delighted to try any roll on the menu, due to the faith I have in the chefs, but I just keep going back to my absolute favorite roll: spicy salmon. It has ruined any other restaurant's spicy salmon roll for me. Sapporo's is the only one. I also highly recommend the I Don't Know, Yum Yum, Spider, Cool, , Crab Bang, and San Francisco rolls. I've had and enjoyed many more, but these are among my favorites. The teriyaki is also delicious here! They've got delicious bento boxes, ramen, you name it. If you're extremely hungry and can hardly wait for sushi (though it's definitely worth the wait) consider trying the chop chop rice. It's quick and really sets the tone for the meal. All in all, I will continue going here for hopefully the rest of my life, even if I live really far away and have to drive or fly for hours. Worth a trip any day.

Pros: Some of these rolls are so creative! I had the Pony Tail while my teen had the Eel. We both loved our rolls. I can’t wait to try some of the others! It was hard to choose just one! If you are a foodie or someone who enjoys trying new things, definitely try this place. Cons: The food arrived in unusual intervals. We had four people total. The first dish arrived approximately 10-15min before the last dish, so one person was pretty far along in eating their food before the last person received their food. Also, not so much a con as something to be aware of, if you are dining with a group and one or more people are picky, this may not be the place for you. There aren’t your typical “I got dragged along and am looking for the chicken fingers option on the kids menu” choices. View the menu beforehand. It’s very good but may pose a challenge to picky eaters.

I was looking for ramen place near Hendersonville area and this restaurant came up in the search. Overall it’s a pleasant experience. Friendly staff and owner. Food was quick and hot but not meeting my expectation for authentic Japanese food and ramen soup in general. We ordered seafood spicy ramen and chicken cutlet with curry. The chicken cutlet wasn’t traditional Japanese cutlet. They’re chicken tenders breaded in panko bread crumbs. The curry tasted good but a bit runny. Seafood spicy ramen soup was spicy. It came with mussels, shrimps, squids and veggies. No ramen egg or other usual ramen toppings. A lot of broth with no toppings and small amount of seafood in such a big bowl. We’ll come back to try a different dish. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese food and a bowl of good authentic ramen, this is not the right place for it.

Needed some comfort food, and my husband wanted Ramen. This place was recommended, so we thought we would give it a try. Staff is friendly and attentive, and that is great until there is an issue. My husband ordered Miso Ramen with added chicken, and it looked like he got chicken ramen, two different dishes. When the waitress asked if everything was okay, because he got up and got a menu to show me what was wrong, I explained what his issue was. She told him he was mistaken and that he got the correct Ramen. Though it looked nothing like what he asked for and exactly like what the chicken Ramen bowl was pictured as. So the best we can figure out is that they just left all the ingredients off the dish and sent it out. The chicken that was added was too tough to chew, and he had to borrow my knife to even cut it. My chicken teriyaki was on the more tough side as well but still flavorful. The fried rice was amazing, but sadly, I couldn't eat much of it, but I brought it home for my husband. The "soup" was a nice beef broth, and the salad had a decent ginger dressing with not too much of an aftertaste to it. Their lemonade is a good one, I enjoyed it a great deal as well.

We didn't order any sushi, but my husband said he would be willing to come back and give that a try as that seemed to be the better way to go for this...

I didn't enjoy my visit for a few reasons and thus will not be going back. I ordered 2 eel and avacado rolls which came deep fried and the fried pork gyoza. My friend ordered a ramen bowl. While she enjoyed her ramen at first all of mine was bad. The beginning salad was soggy, not appealing and the dressing was watery. Then came the gyoza, which tasted like they were plain, store bough and slightly freezer burned. Finally the sushi rolls and as I said before they came deep fried. I'm not sure if they rushed it or what but it was chewy and doughy. I left a whole roll and a half on the plate. We weren't asked how our meal was, only if I wanted a to go box and sitting there looking displeased at it I said "...no". We gave our cards to pay and as she walking away I go "WTH" as a roach crawls on to our table from the little wall by the fish tank....we were smacking at it trying to kill it and making quite a racket. The lady just looked over at us and saw something was going on but just seemed to hurry and swipe our cards....yea we both threw up when we left. Had I saw the roach before hand it would have...
