10/10 reccomend. I spent so much time researching the perfect place (reviews, value, location, services, etc) and I'm so glad I booked with O.liv. I booked my husband and I the mud room and a couples massage. The mud room is a must btw! I'll start at the beginning, we had trouble finding the place. GPS took us across the street to where Aldi and Kroger are. It's actually across the street behind Walgreens. It's under the apartments to the left of Walgreens. There is not a big sign for the place so we passed it once. There was street parking in front of the apartments gym/O.liv. very limited street parking but I would have no doubt we could find other parking. We came in and were sweetly greeted and shown around. There are dressing rooms, oil bar, and lounge. We were told we could go ahead and change into the fabulous robes they offer and slippers and then head to the oil bar where she left a questionnaire for us to fill out. Once changed, we put our belongings in the provided lockers (you take the key with you) and sat at the oil bar and finished our questionnaire while someone got us glasses of water to take with us to the mud room. We followed her to the mud room where she showed us around and the different types of mud. The mud room has literally everything you could need. Disposable underwear, disposable tops, shower caps, towels, wash cloths, sanitized bikinis to wear, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. She told us to wear whatever we are comfortable with or go nude and set the sauna for one hour and left us to relax. We sat in the sauna for a minute and then applied the various muds. Once our hour was up we got out and took showers. I wasn't going to wash my hair but my scalp sweated under the shower cap so it's kind of inevitable. Hopped back into our robes and headed back to the desk where they instructed us to the lounge to await our therapists. Our therapists came and got us when it was time and sat at the oil bar where they helped create the perfect blend of essential oil for our massages. We followed them back to a room divided by a curtain but they open the curtain for couples. They gave us privacy while we got undressed and under the sheet and blanket. The atmosphere is chefs kiss perfect. Neither of us have ever had massages before so I have nothing to compare it to but it was amazing. She made sure I was comfortable at all times and made sure the pressure wasn't too much. Once the massage was over and while we got our robes back on they went and got us fresh cold water which was extremely refreshing. I was so comfortable the whole time here. I'm super self conscious but everyone makes you feel so welcome that it feels like you're hanging with old friends. I reccomend bringing a hair brush and deodorant if you plan to shower. I definitely recommend doing the mud room first. I felt that the massage oils absorbed better after the sauna than they would before the mud. Plus, I didn't want to wash the oils off. So soft! All in all, if you are in Nashville and are looking to get a massage.. look no further! This is the place. Atmosphere...
Read moreDonât go there as a couple, this place isnât understanding of what that means for a couple to get a massage together. We went for our anniversary yesterday and havenât stopped fighting since. I guess there was a misunderstanding with the booking and they put us in separate rooms instead of a proper coupleâs massage. But with their millions of phone calls prior to the day to confirm you would think they will ask and make sure what weâre coming for! That was after we already had facials which are of course done separately. My man got the same woman to do both treatments. I got different people for mine. I felt extremely uncomfortable with doing the massage separately and they didnât care or try to offer some solution. My massage with Jacob was the worst Iâve ever gotten. I donât know what his problem was but he had an attitude from the beginning. He was unkind and made me feel so uncomfortable I was counting the minutes for this to end. Now Iâve learned I can just get up after one minute and go home, I donât need to stay when a massage isnât good and isnât in fact a massage. I donât know what kind of stretching work out that was but I thought I was coming for a Swedish massage. There was 0 massaging in that hour. All along I had to lie there, alone, instead of connecting with my man which was the whole idea of this experience! Afterwards, my man said that his massage wasnât enjoyable either but it was still a massage and the connection with the therapist was fine. Good for him! However we both came home with a terrible back pain! Weâve been lying down taking voltaren pills and cream ever since. Worst experience ever!
Now to the few positive things: the decor is lovely
the oil bar is a cool concept although not very important to the experience as you donât really feel a difference between that and regular massage oil. I would much rather have a short conversation with my massage therapist (basic question like what I do in life! Which would have guided him on how to treat me appropriately) and for him to show the minimum necessary interest so that it would be a good session.
before the massage I had a facial with another person. Mel. And she was absolutely LOVELY!!! The facial felt professional, even if a bit short (we didnât get to do the little neck massage at the end of it). She was friendly and had a very pleasant and lit energy. Thatâs the energy youâd expect from a therapist at a spa. If I could split to two reviews I would give just her 5 stars. She deserved it. However this review is for the establishment:
All in all - Oliv isnât a good place to get a massage. Their therapists for that didnât seem to be professionals. And definitely definitely not for couples! That can ruin a relationship to have such an awful experience when youâre in separate rooms having a completely different experience and your man is spending a whole morning with one woman therapist while youâre having different people and your therapist comes with an attitude and donât give you the massage you paid forâđť
I would recommend it only...
Read moreIt makes me very sad to have to do this but this is based on more than 1 experience. The front desk just doesnât care or is very unorganized. As a somewhat repeat customer I shouldnât be getting 3 phone calls, 4 text messages, and 3 emails to confirm my appointment. That I made. I reached out to who I can assume is the manager and she was not very pleasant. Gave me a little excuse and basically said ânow that Iâve confirmedâ, which I had done multiple prior to that and I have the screenshots with the time stamp to prove.
Outside of that, on multiple occasions, when I walk in, Iâm told to go to the back. Awesome, however, no one comes to tell you that you can put your things in a locker and change into a robe (even when youâre having multiple treatments!!). I had to go ask the front desk AGAIN if I should do this. She said, âsure, if you wantâ.
Treatments themselves:
My facial, absolutely amazing. She asked the proper questions and just genuinely cared.
My massage, it was fine, I was relaxed , however, I heard my therapist speak about ânot really knowingâ the special that I chose while she was at the bar and I was in the waiting room. She did a fine job but she did not ask me how I was feeling, problem areas, etc. she even left the room like 10 minutes in. Again, she was fine and being in this field myself, I ALWAYS appreciate people and their intent.
The amount of money I spent this day makes me sick and ONLY because the way the place as a whole makes you feel (with exception of the esthetician, sheâs amazing). They simply donât care that much because they donât need you or your money apparently.
I was there for a birthday treat after a very personal and hard year. But I know they most...
