Very disappointed so far with their staff being an unorganized. If you do decide to schedule an appointment I would call back several times to reconfirm the appointment date and appointment time. When i was finally about to get through to book an appointment I booked my appointment in January they were months out and they had no availability until March 8 is what I was told over the phone. Now mind you I asked if there was another provider I can see if it was possible to do a telehealth appointment is it possible to go to another location the schedule at that time told me no no no no. The scheduler couldn’t even tell me the difference in the two sides meaning the medical side versus the surgical side. after speaking to another person it was determined that my appointment was with the medical side as I’m talking to her on the phone we schedule appointment for March 8 so I requested off. I placed the date and time in my phone while I was on the phone with the scheduler. As part of a patient workflow the scheduler should confirm the patient’s insurance and confirm the patients demographic information. Today I get ready to go to my appointment only to be told that my appointment was March 2. I know 100% that I was not Informed of the March 2 date. I’ve been knowing since December that I was going to be out of town for work February 28 through March 7. The scheduler today also confirmed that they called you and the calls are recorded. As I explained to her I understand how reminder calls work and I did not receive any type of phone call nor did I receive any type of text message confirming my appointment. During this call we found out the scheduler did not change/ update my phone number, Nor was my email address updated either. So now I have to wait almost 2 months again for another appointment. Staff was unwilling to double book today. I understand that providers have a schedule to stick to however I have called numerous times left messages because I couldn’t get into the my health app and it was not my fault regarding the appt. in addition to me calling them this morning at 8 AM I have called back several times between 8 AM and 11 AM as instructed by the scheduler because the weight loss center phone lines are down and they can’t get through to see if they can add me and finally its almost noon I just got off phone with the scheduler who finally reach the nurse who confirmed that they would not be able to see me today so I’ve wasted half a day playing phone tag with Vanderbilts scheduler and the weight loss clinic. My time is just as valuable as Their time. I did ask if it was possible to speak with the practice manager or with the Lead and no one was available to speak with me. Now mind you I haven’t made it to appointment yet and if this is just the beginning I just might as well cancel the appointment that they scheduled for the...
Read moreI had been struggling to try to lose the weight since having my first child four years ago. This clinic gave me the tools and guidance I needed to finally get the scale to budge. I’ve lost 10.5lbs so far and I feel great. It’s not a drastic weight loss program, it’s a sustainable one. They gave me a packet of information that helped me to visually estimate my calorie intake so that I didn’t need to start weighing all my food. That combined with MyFitnessPal has been a game changer. They make it all very practical so that I can still live a life and not center everything in my life on my diet. The biggest help was the metabolism test they did. They gave me a calorie range to stay within. I hadn’t previously realized that I was simply not cutting out enough calories to lose weight and I also wasn’t being patient enough. I’m losing just under 2lbs a week now. It’s not a rapid fire pace but it’s consistent and what I’m doing to get there is manageable for my life so I know I won’t just pack it all back on when I’m done. This process has really helped me understand what true portion control looks like for my weight. I never really ate too poorly I was just eating far too much. I’m so grateful for...
Read moreVery disappointed. Consult was extremely expensive (over $550) and my insurance covered less than half. The appointment consisted of history -taking and weigh in by a MA, watching a video which showed a choice of only 2 procedures (gastric sleeve and Roux en Y) followed by a pep talk/exam (?) by the surgeon who tries to convince you that this surgery is low risk (and does not inspire confidence) and the visit concludes with someone who tells you what your surgery will cost AND schedules you for a bunch of follow-up appts. If you have bad reflux, you will be told by the surgeon that the sleeve will make it worse and your "choice" is the roux en Y (major rerouting of GI tract and permanent malabsorption of vitamins and minerals). I was not impressed and decided immediately that this option was not for me. Please research if you think you may want to do this and ASK THE CONSULT FEE UP FRONT (note - this "Consult Fee" did not include any labs/referrals/testing (ie EKG) because my primary would be...
