I was a patient for about a year at Dermatology 100 Oaks. Department of Dermatology needs an overhaul. According to a drug manufacturer, a business supplying medical equipment, and my insurance, the department of dermatology at 100 oaks failed to return calls, failed to respond to voicemails, and failed to work with insurance in getting a medical device. If three (3) separate businesses outside of Vanderbilt stated this specific department doesnât communicate, doesnât return calls, makes up bogus excuses to the patient, and fails to respond to voicemails, they canât all be liars, correct?
On two occasions, I messaged my dermatologist about important matters. I was brief and direct. My messages went unanswered. I was ignored. I have never been ignored by a provider at Vanderbilt. But this dermatologist did it TWICE.
The staff at the front desk of dermatology 100 oaks were rude on numerous occasions. I even seen other patients in shock at how they were treated upon checking in.
The staff under my dermatologist all need to be fired. The low and mid-level staff are undermining the dermatologistsâ efforts. I tried to get results at this clinic for a year, and I got zero results.
I still donât understand the point of the employees passing out stickers at every entry. They are a waste of Vanderbiltâs money. And they create pollution by handing out unneeded stickers. I never wear them and throw them in the trash. You should too.
I fired my dermatologist. I walked away. Now, I am looking for better care outside of Vanderbilt.
If you are looking for a dermatologist, I would look elsewhere. Especially if you have serious skin conditions. Dermatology of 100 Oaks will play around with you for a year, and you will see no progress. They will fail to communicate with you, insurance, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and 3rd party businesses providing devices and services.
To patients: AVOID.
To Vanderbilt: PLEASE AUDIT AND OVERHAUL THIS OFFICE.
Thanks...
Read moreI have had a problem with flare ups of pain and fatigue for years now. Some get so bad that I have to be driven places by family members as my driving ability is often impaired. I had a lab order placed and despite hurrying managed to get to the checkin at 5:53 pm, eight minutes before closing. My mother, who has been here before, joked that when she got there late previously she was met with a very scolding aura from her phlebotomist. I personally didnât think it would be a problem as the facility wasnât yet closed and there was no official appointment time to abide by.
However, instantly I was met by a very cold receptionist that was obviously perturbed at my coming at the later end of their shift, but again, a shift that has not yet ended. I precede to be polite and am finally called to the back by the phlebotomist. To my surprise, her behavior was much worse and far less professional than the former receptionist.
She barely said two words to me, obviously annoyed, as she quickly took my blood. As she filled the vials she practically slammed them down one by one, not as if she was in a hurry, but as if she was trying very hard to make me feel bad for coming late. After she was done she practically shouted âThank you!â It was so loud and sudden that I figured that she was talking to someone else in the hall and looked around to see no one. But then she turned to me promptly and coldly announced that Iâm âfree to go.â
Having to depend on health care professionals that treat me like Iâm a disposable customer at a fast food place was very hurtful, especially when I was in severe pain at the time. This on top of a day of constant physical distress ruined my day. This experience alone was enough for me to consider not returning to this facility again. If a mild inconvenience to Vanderbilt healthcare workers can cause such hurtful treatment of patients in need, then I would be glad to go elsewhere for my...
Read moreI've been avoiding seeing an obgyn again because of my traumatic experience at this office. I'm finally sharing this to warn others. and I am far from the only one with a story like this.
I came in to get a copper IUD because I wanted off hormonal birth control. The Dr did not prepare me at ALL for what getting an IUD is. As the professional we rely on their educated information, googling can be wrong. I relied on their information. My mistake. They asked simple routine questions and started the procedure. During the insertion I felt an truly indescribable pain. Dr leaves right after. My face is pale and I can barely put my clothes back on, I'm holding back tears vomit passing out or all of the above. The nurse was the only one who even cared to notice. She asked me extremely surprised did I not take Advil before. I said I wasn't told and tried to get home ASAP.
I had to gather myself from the continued pain alone in my car for 15 minutes before I could even drive. I cried my entire drive home from the pain. I laid in fetal position and cried from the pain for FOUR hours. It felt like my stomach was trying to come out of my body. I continued to feel severe period like cramps for three.days. then suddenly better. A shower answered that question for me as I found the fallen IUD while washing myself.
I called the front about it. I made an appt and I saw another Dr at this location. I was worried about damage to my uterus. Damage wasn't even denied. I was just told the uterus heals quickly.
To top it all off, months later I was correctly diagnosed with PCOS by a PCP. Took one single look at my chart for him to figure out what Vanderbilt couldn't in two locations and three years.
Don't come here. Whatever they offer someone...
