Pic Frame & Gallery — Attraction in New Bern

While I am usually a "Do it Yourselfer" there are some things better left to those with the experience and know how to do it right. Recently, my wife and I had Pic Frame & Gallery do two very special projects for us. The first was to replace the glass in a custom shadow box containing more than 50 Military Unit patches. Unknown to me, my wife took it to Pic Frame, had it repaired and surprised me by hanging it on my office wall. It was a big job and that's why I had not done it myself. It looks great. For the second, I asked Pic Frame to cut a large square wedding photo to fit an antique oval frame which also needed glass. It was my turn to surprise my wife. Both finished projects are of superior quality and reasonably priced as well as delivered on time. I'll remain a "Do it Yourselfer" for smaller art and photo projects, but for those priceless and important projects, I'll go back to Pic...

This time (and I have used their expertise often) they were terrific in connecting me with an art restoration expert. I have part of a Medieval music manuscript that was hand-inked on vellum. I estimate the date between the 13th and 15th centuries in age and it needs a good bit of work. It is not this restorer's area so he sent me to a conservator who works with paper and vellum. Doris, the gallery owner, helped me to figure out an optimal framing and preservation plan that we will do when the conservation work is complete. And all of this for no up front charge. Great work, Great customer service! I dropped off a framed New Bern 1906 print that I had done at another store to have them fix something the other shop was unable to do. The previous frame shop put the print in with noticeable creases and when I pointed it out they stated they were unable to remove it. Pic Frame and Gallery was able to remove the creases and even went a few extra steps to make the final product look amazing! I will be going to them FIRST next time I need something framed!
