Half Time Pub & Grub — Restaurant in New Bern

I wouldn't even give this place one star if that was an option. We went here a few months ago, I ordered a sandwich and after about 10 min the waitress came back and told me they didn't have one of the items that topped the sandwich which I said was okay, when I recieved my order they had left all the toppings and condiments off of my sandwich. I didn't complain nor did I send it back I simply ate the sandwich and paid full price for something I ordered but did not receive. Because my husband enjoyed his food on that visit we decided to give them another try tonight (ya know maybe they were having an off day the first go around). We walked in tonight and grabbed a seat, a waitress came by about 5 minutes later and said she would be right back to take our drink order......25 min later she finally came back, we placed not only our drink order but our food order as well. We waited 15 minutes before my husband got his drink and I am told they can't make my drink. I order a Pepsi instead and then there we sit for another 20 minutes waiting for our food which was chili cheese dogs for him and nachos for me, not a complicated order at all. When we finally received our food his looked like those hot dogs had seen better days and my nachos where stale as could be. We paid for our order and left but will not return. Two strikes and...

Been here a couple of other times with no issue. Today had a party of 9. Waitress did what she could and kept our drinks full and was very attentive… but kitchen staff seemed to be messing up. Of course, with a larger party, you expect to wait, however, 5/9 entrees did not come out correctly (one and a half not at all). -one chili cheese burger meal came without onion rings and without coleslaw on side like requested (never got the onion rings, and another waitress said they did have some in stock) two burgers were all messed up with what came on them vs what was requested (heart attack burgers, so not cheap) and one was medium-med rare when asked for well done, so had to be taken back then came out again with no aoli or slaw. -mega nachos did not come with sides of jalapeños and chili as stated on the menu one meal didn’t come out until the rest of us were finished The waitress asked the owner (yes, we saw) if she could discount and he would only comp the meal that came late. It’s the principle of taking care of your customer. We are pretty easy to please, but this is pretty bad. I expect to get what I pay for, they fell short in that aspect and customer service. I really had to wrap my head around this before I posted it. To say the visit was disappointing would be an understatement. I strive to support local business, however I wish I had supported the corporate competition. Upon arrival I had to wade through the local drunks setting outside the front door in a cloud of smoke with cigarette buts all over the concrete entrance. After walking in trying to find a place to sit that didn't have crumbs on the table or the floor around it you could determine that a good cleaning was in need. Clearly the owner is no longer involved and and has left his business in the hands of people who really don't care. The food however was good. I am concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Again this is not the first time I have been here. However If you are visiting please don't waste your time. Again the local drunks along with the staff front to back, are extremely obnoxious and loud. This visit was around 5p on a Thursday afternoon with no sporting televised. Consider Blackbeard's Triple Play downtown New Bern which is a local business that is professionally run, or Buffalo Wild Wings...
