I’ve given this location several chances, but this morning was definitely my last. First, it’s frustrating that you get more bacon on a regular biscuit than on the so-called “Ultimate Biscuit.” This feels misleading and disappointing. On top of that, if I don’t double-check my order, there’s a good chance it will be wrong. For instance, I often order an English muffin but end up with a dry biscuit instead. This happened again this morning (Monday at 6:44 AM—listen to the recording of the order). It’s incredibly frustrating.
What made this worse was the chaotic experience at the drive-thru. You had a brand-new employee at the window who was clearly inexperienced and struggling to take orders. My order was wrong, and I had to watch him scramble to fix it while the manager sat in the common area chatting. Whether it was an interview or a casual conversation, it was the wrong time—especially during the morning rush when customers are waiting. This kind of disorganization and lack of attention to service is unacceptable.
I used to really enjoy coming here for breakfast and often brunch, but this New Bern location has been a disappointment. The pancakes are consistently dry and lack flavor, almost as if they’re missing butter. The muffins are hit or miss, and the selection feels limited compared to other locations, which used to offer a variety of flavors, even if only seasonally. The hashbrowns are often overcooked to the point where they’re hard and inedible, almost like they’ve been turned into dog treats. They may look fine on the outside, but one touch reveals how over-fried they are, with a tough exterior and an undercooked, unappetizing center.
This will be the last review I leave for this location because it’s also the last time I’ll be eating here. I didn’t even bother writing out the full details this time—what’s the point? I already raised my concerns with the manager before, and nothing was resolved. Just sharing my experience and thoughts here—hope everyone else has a better time than I did.
PS: I almost forgot to mention how unacceptable it was to be served the orange juice I received this morning. It was so disappointing that I genuinely considered leaving work early just to address the issue. There’s no excuse for serving something that looks like watered-down juice and expecting to get away with it. And no, this can’t be blamed on ice or anything else—it was a complete failure. Honestly, this establishment has let us down terribly. Perhaps it’s time to close it down and replace it with something more beneficial for the community, like a bowling alley or a space for kids. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt (wanted to give one star, but gave three). Was rather loud in the kitchen. Cashier very friendly, but didn't my order correctly (would I like egg and cheese on my biscuit? I ordered an ultimate country ham biscuit.). After she corrected the order I asked to verify that egg and 2 pieces of cheese come on the ultimate country ham biscuit, she said, "I think so!" Think so!! ?? The coffee tasted like it had been sitting there all day. I was in the Navy so I was able to chew it down! Parking lot clean.
