Simply Natural Creamery — Restaurant in New Bern

We have been here a few times now to see if service would get any better each time. Spoiler alert... it hasn't. I'll start by mentioning that the ice cream itself is great. No complaints. The waffle bowls and cones can be hit or miss, I do not think they make them fresh everyday as sometimes they have been a bit stale. If this review was just for the ice cream it would be 5 stars, but as it stands at 3... I will share why. It's the staff. The staff each time has been teenage girls who seem to be more concerned with other things than helping customers. Hair in the ice cream from long ponytails, and acting disinterested when asking for a sample of a flavor. The first time I went I asked for a kids size scoop of ice cream in a waffle bowl for one of the children in our group. The girl said they don't put kids scoops in waffle bowls but that she could charge me full price and give me a smaller scoop to put in the waffle bowl. (Yes I took a minute to myself while I comprehended the ridiculousness of that statement). I told her don't worry about it and ordered a kids scoop with a waffle bowl on the side. Put the ice cream in the waffle bowl and threw away the cup in front of her. Crazy. The service hasn't gotten much more...

I love the vibe of the place, the workers are amazing and hard working! However I do think its ridiculous that they obviously don't have enough people for long lines that form. The workers are very nice and they are very quick with giving out orders to everyone and I just think it would be beneficial for everyone if they had another person helping out with the register, the drive thru, the counter, etc. especially on the weekend days for the busy hours. I appreciate these strong ladies so much and their kindness towards me and my friend, I just hope they get a bit more stress relieved from their shoulders. The customers need to realize it takes TIME to get through a line that's practically zigzagged through the store along with the 4 car long line for the drive thru. The ice cream is just as delicious as their flagship location in Ayden. I’ve never had bad ice cream at SN so no complaints there. The cashier was very friendly and personable. Folks scooping ice cream must have been having an off day (I’m sure summer is busy) because they were pretty short with customers, but again, we all have bad days and I won’t let that stop me from returning. My biggest issue with this location is the seating. It was a busy day so all the tables inside were occupied. My daughter and I took a seat outside in the deck area and it was so incredibly hot we didn’t even finish our ice cream (despite how delicious it was). An awning or umbrellas would be so helpful out there because it was honestly miserable sitting in the outside seating area. Still overall a cute, clean store with...
