Five Below — Local services in New Bern

Last visit month ago. . We were being disrespected and racially profiled by certain employees when my family and I visit the New Bern location. . My husband, me and son sometime visit this location in mornings and feel uncomfortable with way we been treated. . Two of your employees who work have treated us badly. A man and little girl both have brown hair. . We see them help and talk nicely with white customers, but my family and me.. who Asian. .have been given terrible and rude answer when we ask for help.. Very short replies with no smiles. . Every isle we walk down, we are being followed and watched. . When we talk Vietnamese they give us mean look. . and they laugh. . It embarrassing that my young son have to see this type of attitude. . We come here because it his favorite store and the only place in area that sell my husband favorite candy. . The man also call my husband as ,,man”. . Disrespectful because that my husband is military and older in age. . I’m upset and ashame because I love five and below but this place will not be visited. . We will now be making drive to Jacksonville store instead. . Asian lives matter. . I will make sure tell everyone my friends. ! And share...

I wouldn’t even rate this store 1 star. It was a terrible experience for me & my husband!! Every time I go to a 5 and Below store, husband & I always stay for at least 2 hours shopping. The employees here followed us around the store the whole time, made terrible & rude faces to us. We had absolutely no privacy when we were trying to shop or even speak to another without the employee standing behind us watching our every move. They even proceeded to call the front cashiers to tell them we were heading to check out. All employees stood beside the door as we were checking out & even watched us walk to our vehicle!!! We spent almost $100 in the store, and we were treated as if we had stole and treated like criminals!! We will NEVER come back to this location!!!! 5 and Below seriously needs to reevaluate their employees & teach...

If you want to be highly disappointed this is the place to shop!!! Left out half of my order even after I called and stated to 2 separate employees that I had 2 separate orders. Got home and only had 1 order. I called them and they had me drive 25 minutes back the night before Christmas Eve, just to be told they couldn't complete the order because they weren't able to do the substitutions. I didn't receive a single phone call and they wouldn't let me pick different gift bags in store myself as substitutions and expected me to pay for other ones myself even after I told the manager I didn't have my wallet and was told I could pick out other bags.
