Mon Asian Market Restaurant in New Bern is a hidden gem for authentic Thai cuisine, and it easily takes the crown for the best Thai food in town. As a combination of a market and restaurant, this spot offers a unique experience for anyone looking to explore authentic Asian flavors. The food is the star of the show, with dishes like Drunken Noodles packed with fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and a perfect balance of spices. Every bite reflects the attention to quality and authenticity thatās rare to find in a small town like New Bern. The staff is courteous and efficient, adding a warm, welcoming touch to the experience.
While the food is exceptional, the atmosphere of the restaurant side could use some improvement. The setup feels a bit utilitarian, which slightly detracts from the otherwise outstanding dining experience. A bit of decor and ambiance could elevate this establishment to match the quality of its food.
For those in New Bern craving authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine, Mon Asian Market is a must-visit. Whether youāre dining in or taking out, youāll leave satisfied and eager to return. If they can enhance their dining space to reflect the quality of their dishes, theyāll be a solid 5-star spot. As it stands, Iām giving Mon Asian Market 4 out of 5 stars. This is the best Thai food in town, and Iāll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally donāt go out of my way to leave reviews. But this hidden gem is literally my new go to for spicy food. I usually get curry at a level 3 when trying new places out to test the waters so to speak. Within seconds Iām sweating and my mouth is on fire. But let me tell you, the curry is so good that I would just keep fighting through that feeling. It really is the best curry Iāve had in a while. I got the egg stir fry noodles for my daughter and she is very very picky about what she eats. She was taking fist fulls of noodles and just devouring them like it was going out of style. Hands down one of the best meals Iāve had in a long time. 100% will be back. Also: let me add I lived in Hong Kong 5 years, was able to travel to various locations such as Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, etc. this is the most authentic food you will find around this area. The prices reflect that but you get what...

The cook looked and stared at me..when I nodded hello she quickly turned around. The cashier comes back to her post and I step up to place my drink ONLY order. She never acknowledges me..and she then leaves the register and disappears. That's when I leave. Not one person spoke to me ...there were 3 patrons in the place. So rush hour wasn't an issue.
