Read moreWe are from Mesa Arizona and visiting Texas for the 1st time ever. Came in February 2020, staying in New Braunfels at Candlewood Suites. If you are anywhere near New Braunfels please check out LANDA PARK!
This is the most Beautiful Park I've ever been too in my life. The park is pretty big and the River runs thru the whole Park. Only downfall I saw which wasn't that big of a deal, is in certain areas of the water, there was like a pondweed growth in many areas and too much of it, River would appear much more beautiful without that.
Gorgeous Trees! They have one tree that is huge, says it's been there as a seed from 1700. It is beautiful and a must see.
My daughter ran around wanting pictures of everything! Both kids loved exploring and seeing some interesting looking ducks. Hubby and I really enjoyed strolling through the park, love the water and the cute squirrel's.
There is a 🎣 fishing pier but we never saw any fish. Never saw the turtles or water snakes either, maybe time of year.
Not a lot of people or action going on probably because of time of year. I believe in warmer months they are suppose to have a lot more going on.
They have a miniature train not sure when it runs thou. They advertise you can swim in spring-fed or olympic pools. Cruise the lake on paddle board or a 🛶 canoe. Tube the Comal River. Play miniature golf or 18hole public course. Enjoy, Arboretum, Picnic facilities, Playground etc.
Sorry don't have more pics to share my daughter took many more then I did. The tree was my favorite.
I wish I could pack this park up and take back to Mesa. We have some nice parks but nothing as great as this amazing park! Highly...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to spend some time on the river and it was recommended to us that we go to Landa Park. It wasn't busy or crowded, it was a Thursday in the summer and we were the only ones at that time getting in at that location. You have to rent your tubes from them and they give you an arm band which is how you get on the shuttle bus at the end of the river to get a ride back to your vehicle. The tube rentals and shuttle ride will cost you$30 per person unless they raise the cost at peek times of the year. We had bought a double float to bring but the wouldn't allow us to use it. Parking is free. Look on the website before you get on the river anywhere if you've never been because there's a list of items they will not allow on the river so you'll want to be prepared ahead or you'll have to throw out everything you have brought and buy new items they allow. You can actually get on the river in several spots for no charge and bring your own float which you can purchase a river float at Walmart or Academy for about $10 for a standard single tube. Don't try to take floats for a swimming pool, they'll probably pop. The water is beautiful and clear for the most part, you can see fish swim by and we saw several deer with their new babies and ducks will swim right up to you and it's allot of fun. Just check the websites first or call ahead or ask anyone near by if you have questions. We loved it, can't wait...
