I needed to find a restaurant where I could meet some family members who were halfway between Buda and San Antonio, and I settled on this place in New Braunfels.
Thus, I discovered this restaurant, Los Dos Garcias, doing Google searches. I should note that they are family and locally owned.
We arrived for breakfast at about 9:00 a.m. and were quickly seated. I will note that by 10:00 a.m. on until we left, around 11:00 a.m., the place was very crowded.
You'll see by the pictures I've included that they have a small dining area on one side of a wall, and then through a doorway, there's a bigger dining area. There are plenty of servers to take care of the people that come in the door. The place reminded me of Old Mexico as it's decorated with many paintings, murals, and very polite comments about life.
I ordered some chips and salsa. These were good, and the chips are really airy, light, and crispy. For my main breakfast, I ordered the Migas plate and my friend ordered a Barbacoa taco and a ham and egg taco.
The food was delicious, the service good and I'll definitely keep this restaurant my list to return to when in this New Braunfels area in the future.
I hope your experience, when you visit, is as good as mine. They really have a good business and good service model, and this is evident by the number of customers that they have...
Read moreI went to Los Dos Garcia's for the 1st time this week. It's a small quaint place that's been around for many years. The original owners decided to close and reopened as Los Dos Garcia's. First, I loved the menu, this coming from a senior citizen with bad eyes, this menu was perfect to review without the need of my cheaters! I ordered a green chicken enchilada lunch special and added a beef crispy taco. The enchiladas were very good and stuffed with chicken with tomatillo sauce. The Mexican rice was the star on this plate. It was delicious. I asked for charro. I prefer a more soupy charro beans. These were thicker, however they had good flavor with ham in them. The taco was nice and crispy, however a little small then the usual crispy taco shell and the picadillo was good. One thing that stood out was they serve you a small serving of queso with your complementary chips and salsa. That was an unexpected surprise. The service was friendly and efficient. The negative, parking sucks! Prices were very competitive. I'm looking forward to my next visit to this nice mom and...
Read moreThis was my second time here, lunch on a Friday. I can definitely tell word has gotten out about this little place because there was one 2 tables available and a constant line of pick up orders. I had the carne asada, so good! The chips and salsa are also great. The salsa has just the right amount of spice to it.
Side note about the sweet staff. There was a fussy toddler in the restaurant that several waitresses stopped to talk to him in attempts to cheer him up. One waitress even picked him up and took him over to the others to talk to him. I thought it was such a sweet gesture that she didn't have to do.
All that to say, this place will be in our...
