After 30 years, it’s too many Californians and too much bad attitude. Had to whoop 2 college kids on college night after exiting and for calling me “50 years old” and shoving me aside, saying they’d assault me. Cops just laughed at the kid that ended up in the Comal. Too many disrespectful Bad Bunny and Cali types that really ruined this festival in our great small town. Everyone I know from New Braunfels of 30 years has stopped going to this. Bus in your crowd because locals don’t support this anymore.
The Fair food is becoming more and more. Less German food. Potato pancakes were raw this year and the applesauce now comes in plastic instead of being ladled ontop. The experience has become very cheap but the price has not. $40 for a pitcher of beer would never be allowed in Germany, as beer is meant to be cheap for the working class people. We had fun this year but I question more and more why we return. Places like the library upstairs we have always enjoyed and now they close it off to make it “private”. Things we once enjoyed are now different and closed to the public. It’s a very different experience for me these days, and even Alex doesn’t play all 10 days, he only plays like 5 days of Wurstfest now, very telling of how this has deteriorated over the...
Read moreWursfest is mainly a celebration of beer in November in New Braunfels. I happened to love beer and new braunfels so it’s perfect for me! Over the years it’s gotten increasingly crowded though. I’m talking shoulders packed in like sardines. There’s huge lines for the restrooms all the time so if you have to go make sure to before you leave the house. Especially since after everyone else has gone in there, the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. The parking is also a nightmare. If you don’t get there almost 3 hours before it opens you have up to $30 for parking. With all that being said though, it still is a wonderful time to celebrate with friends in NB. There’s delicious food, great beer, live German music, and even carnival rides. If you live in New Braunfels and haven’t been yet I’d recommend at least going once to experience it. Though if you happen to have noise sensitivity issues I would not come as it is incredibly loud...

Wurstfest is an absolute delight from start to finish! This festival is a perfect blend of culture, tradition, and sheer fun. The array of Dutch treats and freshly made Belgian waffles is heavenly, offering a taste of Europe that you won’t forget. The music, especially the lively yodeling, creates an infectious energy that keeps you smiling and tapping your feet all day long.
And of course, the sight of so many people in their traditional Lederhosen and Dirndls adds to the charm—it feels like stepping into a lively Bavarian village!
This festival is a true celebration of heritage, and I can only hope this wonderful tradition persists for many years to come. If you haven’t been, do yourself a favor and make it a priority next...
