To the cashier in Key Food New Britain, I hope you never have to experience the way you made me feel today. My son pinched his finger between the cart and the side of the conveyor belt at the checkout trying to be a big boy and push the cart himself. He barely pinched it.. but he is autistic and has sensory processing issues. So he started wailing. I did my best to calm him down and I also did my best to get all my food on the conveyer as quickly as possible. When I looked up at you, I wasn’t expecting you to blatantly look me up and down and give me a once over, and then proceed to shake your head in apparent disbelief and judgement and then sneer at me. I have never had someone look at me that way, right in front of my face. What exactly were you judging me for? My child crying? Me rushing to get my food up there so that I could leave the store quickly because my child was overwhelmed and I was beginning to be overwhelmed as well? You continued shaking your head while scanning my food.
If you are ever faced with a situation where you feel overwhelmed and anxious, I hope you are shown grace and kindness. How easy it would have been for you to offer me a kind smile.. but instead you made me feel infinitely worse in an already stressful situation. Even after you did that, I was extremely kind to you. I wished you a wonderful day and thanked you for your service. It costs nothing to be kind. I did nothing to deserve the way you treated me, but I still extended some kindness your way. I understand having a bad day… but this wasn’t “having a bad day”. You openly stared me up and down and shook your head while staring at me before sneering and curling your lips up in disgust. I hope the next person that’s having a difficult time in your checkout lane has a more positive experience.
I proceeded to leave the store and have not been able to stop thinking about what it was that caused you to look at me with such disgust and disdain. If you ever happen to read this, I would be interested in knowing...
Read moreI bought some things in this keyfood supermarket ,I turned back to buy some grapes. When I looked in the bag, some were spoiled, so I took that bad branch out and proceeded to pay for the rest. A woman in the store said I have to buy it all ,I said no problem, just give me my money back. The woman started to have an attitude she was actually arguing with me because I didn't choose to buy bad grapes. I called the phone and asked for the manager. The owner came on the phone, and as I tried to explain to her that some were spoiled, she said, "Well, I'm the owner," and hung up the phone. What kind of bad customer service is this? So she's mad because I refuse to buy...
Read moreHorrible customer service. I spent 20 dollars on a bag of rice that I used once and I go to return it because it tasted horrible. Mind you I didn't even use a lot of it. Horrible manager didn't even look at the bag and told me I can't get my money back. I threw the bag in the trash of the store. Never again will I go to this store and spend my money. I would rate it a zero if I could. Train your managers to do better and listen to their customers. never again will I come to this grocery store. And I will never...
