I came across Manfredi Jewelers online while searching for an authorized Rolex dealer in the area. I had the good fortune of connecting with Joe DiFabbio who almost immediately and very graciously responded to my online inquiry. This type of excellent customer service is indeed appreciated when inquiring about purchasing a fine watch. Joe is extremely knowledgeable with decades of experience in the watch and jewelry business. He gained my confidence and trust by offering to chat with me on the phone. I was impressed. The Manfredi boutique in New Canaan (there is also a shop in Greenwich) is intiimate and charming with a very friendly staff. In fact during my visit yesterday, both Joe and Darla Jo were kind enough to wipe the watch I was wearing with a polish cloth and offer advice on where I could purchase a new crocodile strap for it as they do not carry the brand. I am looking forward to forging a lasting relationship with Joe and the entire Manfredi family. I also look forward to purchasing a new Rolex watch very soon and continuing to do business in the years to come. Read moreI just had an unfortunate “Pretty Woman” experience at Manfredi Jewels. I walked in to purchase a particular watch and saw that it was out of stock. I tried to place an order but was rejected because I “do not have a relationship with the store.” I honestly thought they were kidding but they explained that they would only place orders for their best clients – and I did not fall in that category. Now, I was free to “enter into a relationship” with Manfredi Jewels, but that would entail buying lots of jewelry that I didn’t really want. It would mean, however, that I could then order my watch. I am 100% not praying for the death of retail – but this is why people just buy stuff online.
In reply to Owner's response: I genuinely appreciate the timely response, but please do not excuse your employee’s rude behavior as “confusion.” There was no confusion. Your employee informed me that your store would only take orders for your “best customers” and the way I could become one was to “build a relationship” through purchases. If that is inaccurate, apologize for your employee’s misinformation. If it is accurate, at least stand by your own policy. But let’s stop pretending anyone was “confused.” I look forward to...
