So my husband and I came to New Orleans on our honeymoon with no real plan of action, we simply assumed fate would lead us on an adventure, and thanks to Robb we were definitely not disappointed!! First off our flight got in far too early for us to check into our hotel, so we decided to just wondering aimlessly around the French Quarter in the early morning. Unfortunately it was a million degrees and a thousand percent humidity, so we stepped into this little visitor center to escape the hot soup air and find some direction on our trip. That's where we met our hero!! Robb saved us both from boredom and a sword wielding psychopath!! Boredom wise Robb had excellent and honest advice on the best ways to spend our trip, and we ended up loving them all!! He found us a city tour leaving shortly, that was both informative and blissfully air conditioned. He then offered to walk us down towards the pickup site for the tour, and grab us a discount coupon for the restaurant we would meet in. This is were our epic really takes off. While chatting earlier Robb had told us of his previous work in special forces, but soon we would see his badassery in action. As we walked down the street a crazy man appropriately dressed in a wife beater walked by and out of no where punched Robb in the face. Robb immediately confronted the then only fist wielding assailant. The man apparently had a little more crazy in store though and reached into a random truck to grab a pipe and a sword, Robb never even flinched he continued to confront the man till he threw down his weapons, all the while getting a small family out of the way of danger and flagging down the police. He retrieved the weapons carefully so they could be fingerprinted, and continued to help us down the road without missing a beat. He even remembered our discount coupons. All in all Robb helped make our honeymoon an adventure from start to finish and made everyone a...
Read moreDO NOT VISIT THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS!!! Just over 24 hours of arriving in the city, while visiting Bourbon Street, we were the victims of an assault that left my partner laying unconscious in the street. Because my focus was on him and i relied on others to call 911, the police who surrounded us on horseback couldn't be bothered to ask any questions and made the assumption we were just stumbling drunks. Not one got down off their horse to ask what happened. As a result, no police report was made and the person who assaulted us, who could have killed my partner or left him with a life altering TBI instead of the severe concussion he is dealing with now, got away. And when following up with the police tonight, we're victimized all over again by being told that we needed to be the ones to initiate the report with the police and since my focus was on my unconscious partner, too bad for us. Never, never will i visit this city again and i recommend...
Read moreStopped in about 10:30 am on December 28th. Two older women were behind the counter . Waited for them to help another couple who they were quite friendly with. Said hello and asked for assistance re booking some tours. Woman with glasses very terse - told me to look at the brochures. Then made a huge mistake - said hello sir may I help you to . . . My husband.
I call it as I see it - more important so does he.
Cut the middle man out and go directly to the tour places - they are friendly to visitors - of all colors. Not just the white husband. Now another couple in reverse just had the exact same experience. Rotten employees on a Saturday morning.
We stayed at International House - book your tours through them if you are...
