I live in New Orleans and only review when I am very happy or very unhappy. This store had adorable candy and items for sale. I needed to kill some time and picked out candy for my entire family. I put the items on the counter top and then remembered that I wanted one more thing. Even though I was the only customer in the store the lady loudly told me that I could not leave my items there and to use a basket. I quietly complied. I got my next item and then went to the checkout. The three ladies in the store were tagging items and talking. I waited awhile, but I couldn't wait indefinitely because I had to get back to work. So, I asked if they had a moment could someone please check me out. The main lady told me out loud that I was very rude. I of course apologized because I did not intend to be and then she continued to berate me on my rudeness. At that point I decided not to check out and spend money in their establishment. Upon entering the store, I was never greeted, nor was I asked if I needed assistance. This lack of attention was frustrating, and when I asked a question about the pralines, I was met with an aggressive and dismissive attitude from an older man behind the counter.
His irritation was evident. It was as though my inquiry was an interruption to his day.
