The boat ride was quite pleasing and a joy to experience. The food, the live jazz, the slow cruise, the tour guide, and the sites throughout our travels were splendid. I want to highlight one employee in particular. Angelica (Jelly) sold pics during the City of New Orleans boat ride- checked on me after nausea so very sweet. I was so impressed with this young lady. I know her main priority is to sale the boat pictures but her level of concern for passengers exceeded my expectation. I usually get super sick with any type of boat ride (ferry, sailboat, cruise boat, cruise and etc. So, I had put my ear patch on, but it made me a little nauseated and when I ate the boat food it did not sit well with my tummy. Anyway, as Jelly approached me, before trying to sell the pictures she took one look at me and she could tell something was wrong. She spent some time taking to me until I told her I was ok, then I purchased the pictures and thanked her for her kindness. What she did next blew me away……it was perhaps thirty minutes later when my friend was in the gift shop purchasing some items and I was waiting in the hallway. As Jelly passed me by, she paused and said how are you feeling now. I told her much better…she smiled big and said she was so happy to hear that. That level of customer service is unmatched. Thank you, Jelly, for your big heart. You are definitely deserving of a raise, a spot bonus and/or employee of the month. Thanks again.

We purchased the Jazz Brunch Cruise a week in advance and didn’t think we had chance, but the staff member was kind enough to tell us “everyone makes mistakes.” All aboard! The tour guide was pretty interesting and the view of the city skyline was a sight to behold. I enjoyed the dining area, but the food wasn’t very tasteful. For the price I feel we could of gotten a little more bang for our buck. The server was very kind but seemed a bit overwhelmed, due to having to bus her own tables. Thus, slowing down brunch, main reason I bring that up is before you knew it we were headed back to port. I would of enjoyed more time on deck seeing the sights and learning about the history of this great town. Hopefully my feed back helps improve the next guest experience and makes it a 5 star experience for someone else. Worth a shot if you haven’t had the experience before. Got to love supporting small business, the blood line of America.

My family and I LOVE riding on the River boat cruises! We always recommend getting the lunch/dinner included. Even though it costs a little more it is well worth it! Even for the kids. We are by far waiting for the Natchez to return back to the water after her much needed remodel is completed. However, The City of New Orleans does not disappoint. My ONLY downfall is the time allowed for eating. It is an "all you can eat" but you will only have no more than 45 minutes to eat everything you can. I just dont think that is enough time for a family of 4 or more to eat ALL you can. And also, the alcoholic drink prices are VERY expensive. River boats are TRULY the most expensive places to drink in the city. We limit ourselves to 1 drink per person. Average cost will be $7.00-$18.00 for each drink. But it is and has always been a great experience!

An Unforgettable Experience Aboard the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS!

We hosted a private party aboard the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS, and I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience! From start to finish, everything was absolutely amazing.

First of all, the planning process was incredibly simple. The team was so organized, communicative, and made sure every detail was taken care of. They truly made the experience stress-free and enjoyable from day one.

The staff on board were beyond helpful and so genuinely hospitable—they treated us like royalty! Every guest felt welcomed, taken care of, and impressed by the level of attention and professionalism.

Now let’s talk about the food... WOW. Every single dish was outstanding. Flavorful, beautifully presented, and plentiful. Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious everything was. It exceeded all expectations and then some!

If you’re considering hosting a private event, I would 1000% recommend booking with the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS. It’s a unique, memorable experience with top-notch service, mouthwatering food, and a team that truly cares about making your event special.

WAIT TO BOOK UNTIL CHECKING WEATHER. We were very excited to do our jazz dinner cruise. Unfortunately the night we had booked ended up being a stormy night. They sail rain or shine so we decided to make the best of it. However we did not realize we were given an hour to eat then had to leave our seats for another seating for dinner. Which left us to go to the top levels of the boat which were exposed to the elements. We were soaked and freezing. All the outdoor seating was soaked and there was no staff drying anything off for customers. Poor planning on the boat behalf to not have adequate shelter from the elements if they sail rain or shine. They should install plastic curtains in the future to avoid this problem. I wish we could have enjoyed this but it ended up being pretty miserable for everyone on board that night. Food is bland which we knew before booking also so there was not much left to be desired for our trip out. Wish we could have enjoyed the jazz band more but having been kicked out of the dining hall we were unable to listen to it the rest...
