I never do online reviews but I am definitely doing one of this restaurant. It was about 8:30pm today, Thursday, when my family and I decided to go to this place as other nearby restaurants were no longer taking customers at this time of the day. We had to wait some 10-15 minutes outside for our turn but this is understandable given that not all of the tables were being used due to covid-19. Once inside, we waited for another 5 minutes before we were taken to our table. During the wait we overheard that they were out of shrimp. Given that it was already close to 9:00pm, we thought that this was something that could happen and didn’t give it too much thought. Once at the table, we were greeted by the waitress and asked if we were ready to order drinks. We only wanted water and we had the waters shortly afterwards. No problem until here. When we were ready to order, we were told that anything in the menu that had shrimp they would not be able to do or add. I was undecided on what to order but I decided on the Creole Jambalaya. When it was time to order I was confirmed that no shrimp would be added with the meal. Nevertheless, I still chose the Jambalaya and asked to maybe get a bit more sausage instead of the shrimp. The waitress did not say no but I didn’t really hear her say yes either. My wife and daughter ordered their meals at the same time as well. One was Red beans and rice with smoked sausage and the other a club sandwich with French fries. The food was brought to the table about 15 minutes later. Not too terrible waiting time. When I started eating the Jambalaya, I very quickly noticed that the Jambalaya was made of mostly rice. I already knew I would not see any shrimp in the meal. However, I was quite surprised of not seeing sausage and only some VERY minimal threads of chicken that was almost impossible to see. So my wife ended up sharing some of the sausage she had with her red beans and rice. At that point, I was already annoyed with my dinner. As I was talking with my wife and daughter, my daughter stated that the club sandwich was supposed to be with a croissant and instead it came with po-boy bread. When the waitress asked us quickly as she was passing by our table if all was ok with the food, I said yes because it had been a long day, we were tired and hungry and all we wanted was to finish the dinner and get to the hotel. But it was when we were paying that I told the waitress that the Jambalaya was basically missing the chicken and the sausage (I knew about the shrimp). She said that was weird as it is all included when they cook it (except in this case the shrimp, of course, as I already knew). So she said she was going to tell the manager. We waited about 5 more minutes but the manager never came to our table. At that point we were ready to leave and back to the hotel and that’s what we did.

For what we had, and especially the Jambalaya at $14 for that meal, that is completely a ripoff and I would never go back and eat at that restaurant AND I would not recommend it to anyone else either. The fact that the restaurant is by Jackson Square can probably contribute to the high price and not so great dining experience. This place is a big “NO” for me. Stay away from this restaurant and spend your hard-earned money...

Waited at the hostess stand for about 4 minutes with one manager and two other servers eyeing us without acknowledging us standing there with another couple behind us waiting to be seated. Short staffed, which is understandable, but at least visually ignore someone if you know you can't attend to them or let me know it will be just one moment. Finally asked how many, I say three, she looks at the menus at the stand, walks off, starts looking for other menus I'm guessing she's possibly missing, answers a phone call, then comes back in about two minutes. We're seated, couple behind us as well. They were brought drinks first. Manger comes and apologizes for the waiter instead of owning up to her management mistake. We're brought water about four minutes later, mine had something in it, nothing huge but still, actual waiter comes and is very slow, has trouble hearing all three of us ordering food, continues conversation after we're all done for another two minutes with my mother, then walks off. Promptly brings three more waters to the table to realize his mistake and lack of observational awareness. I request one of them regardless because of the object in mine. Brings me my hurricane drink maybe 5 minutes later, sweet, but it had green stuff frozen in the ice (picture attached). Brought a new one within two minutes, that was fast which I appreciate. Unfortunately I had to use the bathroom. Pee all near the trashcan (understanding guys can misbehave at times) but who knows the last time it was checked. It's more unfortunate that it's simply a very small bathroom so you can't avoid the pee hardly. No soap also, luckily my mother had some hand sanitizer. Took 47 minutes for food to get here. Oyster po boy had lettuce and tomatoes which I specifically asked for them to take off. Sandwich burnt slightly as well. Zatarains Jambalaya and Gumbo mix from the box is better than their gumbolaya (I'm from Louisiana so yes I know what I'm talking about). Unfortunately the bartender (blonde lady) had to briefly start taking orders which is great initiative, but her trying to pick up slack for unenthused co-workers is just not right. Calvin was our server and we were not impressed. Would be wrong to say the crew was having a bad day. It was a horrible day. Would not recommend. Being a Marine for the past 12 years, I can clearly see this was Botha in leadership, and employee issue...

oh boy where do i begin with this review??? lets start with the "family friendly" sign that's out front of the establishment which couldn't be further from the truth (maybe this should be removed until management changes??) our crew arrived with more than an hour until close and made it clear that wed be okay going somewhere else had the time been a problem to which we were seated and everything was okay. our waitress was very respectful and got our orders in and drinks out! The chargrilled oysters were good and the gator bites also tasty! Here's where the poor management comes to play and from the start the man in red named blaine was very unprofessional and deemed unfit to respect his employees. Belittling them, embarrassing them which made a group of two that came shortly after us get up and leave ( what's interesting is he was mad that they were sat and not deterred from the restaurant, but also he was mad they left? both of which stemmed from his horrible attitude.) He took his coworkers into the kitchen yelling vulgar language at them as if they were less than human to him. Normally in food service you'd like to be welcoming and hopeful people spread good words about your business to retain guess for future visits, well Blaine has a very poor understanding of this and has left a VERY sour memory of The Corner Oyster House leading to a slim chance of return. I am wishful that either the owner or Blaine himself has a chance to read this and decide if treating others with this much disrespect is healthy for the restaurant. Maybe in the future his ego complex will subside and bring back that welcoming family friendly fun that was once prominent here. Do...
