Table for 2 for Lunch I had this place in mind for our 1st stop in New Orleans, so we took a quick 15-minute walk over from our hotel. We entered without a reservation, and were able to get a table for two for lunch. When asked if we preferred indoor or outdoor seating, we chose inside, it was a little too warm for Wifey this time around. 😁 They led us to a perfect high-top table just behind the bar, and our server, Kristen T, greeted us right away with menus. All the beers offered are brewed in house. I ordered a flight, while Wifey went with the Weiss. The beers arrived quickly, and we decided to add a couple of appetizers; I opted for the hot wings and Wifey ordered the bang bang shrimp. The wings came with a sweet and spicy sauce that Kristen told me was not that hot, it ended up being a good choice. Kristen mentioned she was new, but we couldn’t tell. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of. The flight was excellent, and my surprise favorite was a Vienna-style pilsner called the Red Stallion. From where we sat, I only noticed one small TV, so it’s probably not the spot to catch a game. There’s also an upstairs area, which our server said is often booked for parties. She also pointed out that the space almost doubles as a museum, with artwork displayed on the walls and most of it available for purchase. While we were there, a live band started playing, which added another highlight to the experience. I went upstairs to check it out and found a huge interior dining area and a balcony overlooking Decatur Street. That’s definitely where I’ll plan to sit next time. Overall, it was such a great setup that I found myself thinking, I could have stayed...

We spent some time looking for somewhere and came across this pretty chill and jazzy spot for food. Honestly over it was a good time. There were some things that were lacking though and I'm about to spit some truth.

The server did not bring us silverware/napkins when food was brought. My girlfriend, who I love dearly, had to get up in the middle of her meal to get the silverware/napkins. Unreal right? Anyway, I had to get up as well, twice (once for the bathroom), because a straw was not brought for my girlfriend's hurricane. Foul play imho. I mean look, the server was nice, no knock on her. But come on, we paid so much money here, like $185 (not including tip) for 2 so at least dont look at us weird when we ask for some salt. We have good blood pressure. Oh and hot sauce too. Wth?

Shrimp and crawfish pasta was amazing though. Honestly so tasty. Damn I wanna go back. We got charbroiled oysters instead of raw. If you are a fan of oysters like me and my beautiful girlfriend, and you enjoy good old classic oysters that are raw and not heavily broiled and marinated, then just beware of that. Not the restaurant's fault though, I was just too stupid and idiotic to realize the difference. I need to be more literate.

Overall, its a good vibe, just be prepped to break the bank a bit, y'know? OH! I almost forgot, they charge a stupid convenience fee on the check. Like we arent paying enough already? I asked for it to be dropped, even if I paid debit. She said no! Holy mackerol these corporate establishments are out of control. Anyway, thats a discussion for another day. Happy new...

03/15/2023 - Amended Review The stars reflect the hidden cost of doing business and deceptive practices. The food that night was fire and five stars.

First went to the drink window and wanted a red beer. Only tap junk. So, I ordered a Hurricane ($11), the lady asked me if I wanted a shot. Sure why not! She rings me up and says $21 for a plastic cup of well Hurricane. I paid but refused to leave a tip!

Had an excellent dinner! Reviewed the bill and was hit with an 8% convenience fee. Now, we’ve been coming to New Orleans for at least 6-years so we know all the traps, trades and tricks and handily avoid them. We will pay for a good meal, service and provide excellent tips up to 30% of the ticket. We dialed it back and told the waiter we hope management is sharing that 8% fee. While we did tip. It was no where near our norm. Be warned of this practice through-out the New Orleans area.

This is one of our favorite joints when we come to Nawlins! The Red Stallion beer is bar none, the best Red Beer that I’ve ever had! Plus, they have a bartender (Chris) who makes the best Long Island ice teas this side (east) of the Mississippi.

Wow, we love this place and it’s always our first stop wheels down.

Going to maintain my five stars, but they need to bring the ribeye steak back. I had the flank steak and it was mediocre at best. So, management please read and get that ribeye back!

One of the night shift bartenders was less than enthusiastic about her job. Hopefully, she will have found another job by...
