I’ve never had a bad experience at any Aldi before today. My family and I have spent thousands of dollars at many Aldis all over NY state and other states, and have never had a problem returning anything unopened or unused for store credit for any reason. Specifically, my family has spent hundreds of dollars at this particular location. Well our two year old decided one day this week that he didn’t like the pouch baby food, which we have been feeding him EXCLUSIVELY the aldi brand. He decided two weeks ago that he wasn’t going to eat a certain flavor so I returned about 20 of them about a week ago, no receipt, no questions asked, for store credit. I spent three times the store Credit I received in other goods on that trip. Fast forward to today, and went to return about 60 of the pouches that he will not eat anymore, again for store credit since i don’t know where the receipt is, And the manager decided that it was too many, which surprised even the cashier that was preparing to ring up my store credit and said not having the receipt was no problem before he decided to make an exception to the store policy in order to inconvenience me. I will not be shopping at this location anymore, which is a shame since before this day, I have had nothing but positive shopping experiences and encountered only friendly and helpful employees. So to you manager on duty at the gateway store at 7pm on Saturday 9/26/18, I hope your decision to reject my return for store credit was worth a customer and his friends and family, that have been worth thousands of loyal customer dollars in the past and many times more than that in the future, was worth it for the 70 dollars you saved aldi in store credit. This doesn’t seem like the time to alienate good customers over nonsense, so be proud...

Today at 9:23 p.m. I came to this Aldi in Brooklyn, Gateway 11239. I witnessed the worst customer service, I don't know if this person was in charge of this location, but it was a young girl with dark skin, who wears glasses, She treated a lady who was with two children worse than an animal, and excuse the expression because I treat my pet as if they were human. The lady had a girl and the girl apparently needed to use the bathroom. The lady saw the bathroom door open and went to go in, the girl with glasses saw her and yelled at her, you can't go into that bathroom and threw the door on her face. , apparently the lady did not realize that the bathroom said, bathroom for employees only. I understand that apparently the bathroom was not for the public, but nevertheless, she could say, sorry, the bathroom is not for the public, but she yelled at her and told her with a very loud tone of voice, you cannot enter that bathroom and slammed the door on her face. Then she went to the only cashier that was open at the time and began to tell her what had happened and laugh. This did not happen to me but I witnessed it and since I do not like injustice I felt that I should report what I witnessed, which was very unpleasant, I just want the manager of this district to take action on the matter. If they have a camera they can see, maybe the audio is not heard, but you can see the attitude of how I...

I would love to be apart of the five star community on this page but unfortunately my stars only go to the guy sanitizing the carts and the prices. My experience here is very mixed, upon arrival on a Monday morning we were welcomed by a sweet guy in the front who handed us clean cart with a good morning. As we head into check out we were rudely directed to a single line into one of the isles, I could already tell this was not going to be good as I had seen how this cashier was treating the customers but she was the only one open. She smashed all of our groceries into the cart and proceeded to just give us our receipt, no Hello, thank you, how are you? nothing!! I work with people also and I know that a simple "how are you today?" changes the whole mood of the experience. The man behind me got the worse of it, he was not prepared with reusable bags (he said it was his first time there), she asked how many bags would he like in which he paused for literally 3 seconds and she yelled and I am not exaggerating she yelled" hello! hello! hello! and sucked her teeth when he answered. Like I get that a lot of people don't want to work but if you don't like or want your job please hand it over to some one who will actually appreciate it. Aldi please fix the customer service and manor in which they pack our things, some of my eggs were cracked and my pasta boxes...

Typically love shopping here for the deals but a lot of times it’s counter productive. The store opens at 8:30am yet at 8:30am is when they’re deciding to restock inventory. The configuration of this store is like a warehouse so imagine big freights of boxes stacked infront of the fridge that you need. Employees maneuvering huge metal dolly’s inbetween passenger cart traffic is unsafe. This was a poorly thought out rotation. And if that didn’t sound chaotic enough- the self checkout line was blocked off with more freight leaving ONE cashier to ring up customers with carts full of products. Do not come in the early opening hours if possible. The only reason I didn’t include more pictures was to respect the privacy of the cashier.

Aldi is supposed to be doing quite well. I have been to several decent locations. But this Aldi, in spite of pleasant employees, has to be one of the most poorly managed retail stores I have found. A path of crushed cherries to slip on extended for three feet, and was not cleaned up during my 45 minute visit. Aisles were not straight; the gondolas were erected unevenly. Thirty six foot sections of aisles were completely empty. Shelves were a mess. There was a huge case cut at the end of one aisle, but no one took the trouble to take the tops of off the cases. Plus four employees at the front, but only one cashier was working. It strikes me that this only occurs in poorer neighborhoods. It’s as if we don’t count.

This place was filthy, they had food on the floor that they were putting in the freezer, not on a pallet but on the floor getting kicked around by customers. The only food I saw that was on top of something on the floor is the one below that i took a picture of. They never have any of the home finds that come out on Wednesdays stocked. I asked and several employees said they wait until Friday to do it. Why? They didn't say. I find the Aldi stores in New York city and in jersey city to be the most disorganized, dirty and have rude employees.
