This store has a wide collection or art supply, it's large and clean - but, based on today's experience - I would not purchase here unless it was an emergency and I cant wait for Amazon. I picked a certain ruler, stood in line, and after I paid, I noticed that the price was higher than what was mentioned on it. I walked back to where I found it, and made sure i'm not blaming them for I mistake I made, but I was charged a dollar more. I went back to the cashier that served me, told her that she over-charged me, and she started by telling me it's the tax... then we told her that the receipt shows the base charge + tax separately, so she said they dont always update the prices, there's nothing she can do about it, and if I want to return it I need to go back in-line...... (rude!) lucky for her that another worker came immediately and told us he'll help us out, and sorted out the price for us with the help of his manager... Not only that the prices are much higher than online, but that kind of service is unacceptable and uncalled for. If this is the price that's advertised, they have to honor it. if they dont have the manpower to update the tags, dont change the...
Read moreKayla, the cashier, and Ian, sales associate, are the bomb. They were so patient with me. Ian helped me get the majority of items on my daughters art supply list. She is an art student at UAlbany. Kayla was patient with me also because I realized that I forgot 3 things off my list that we're on the other side of the store. She put all my stuff on the side and organized it in a way to help me to ship it later. Also she signed me up for the student discount for my daughter. That was so helpful because now my daughter gets 10% off when she shops at Blick art material in Albany. Also, if I purchase the wrong material, she can do the exchange up there as I'm all the way in New York City. Kayla also was able to find me a discount coupon that helped save more money over the 10%, $47 in total....
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer at Blick for over 10 years, but my recent experience at the 536 Myrtle Avenue location was extremely disappointing. I felt racially profiled when staff refused to accept a $20 bill after taking several minutes to inspect it, saying it was “too crumpled.” When I expressed my frustration, the manager escalated the situation, stepped aggressively into my personal space, called the police, and banned me from the store.
No customer should ever be treated this way. This experience left me feeling humiliated and disrespected. I truly hope Blick takes steps to address this type of behavior, as I can no longer support...
