I joined the gym before Covid and I had a bad experience with the trainers. I chose this gym because of the convenience of being able to walk there from my home. My free training session was a disaster. I tried 3 different guys. My training session was either repeatedly canceled (by the trainer) or the trainer was late and I was left waiting. One trainer told me he was late because he had an audition for a commercial. Another one canceled because he had some business to take care of and he canceled again the following week because he said he didn’t feel good . Each time I was dressed and getting ready to walk out my door . I even got a text message from a trainer while I was home one evening telling me that I need to understand that they don’t get paid for the free training session and they’re doing it on their own time. I was shocked! I reported it to the manager. I showed her the text messages of me and the trainer going back and forth. As I was leaving the gym I saw the two of them laughing and talking by the front desk like they were friends. I knew then that nothing was really done about it. I finally landed a trainer that was serious about his work and very professional. He was new. So I signed up for 8 sessions. The afternoon of my 3rd session the gym closed due to Covid. When they reopened I went back but he was gone. I trained with a different trainer who actually used to be a neighbor of mine so it was great and I finished my sessions. But due to the rise in Covid I decided to end my membership until things got better. I am now vaccinated so I renewed my membership. I started back this week and while I am excited to be back working out, I am dismayed at the lack of adherence to Covid guidelines. As I was walking on the treadmill, people all around me were working out with either no mask on or the mask is worn around their chins only covering their mouths with their noses exposed. Staff members were walking around like they were oblivious to what was going on. I understand it’s hard to breathe with a mask on and work out, but these are the times we are now living in. This gym is a nice place with a good location but it is poorly run. Management is not doing their job. I do find the staff to be friendly but it takes more than a smile to run a business especially when people are paying for the service. I am going to look into why this gym is not following...

My rebuttal to this is first off, if this is the case, then why is it that on every major social media platform they're individuals who are doing exactly the same thing? Both with a tripod, without a tripod, & even a camera man.
I'm simply recording myself to ensure that I am exercising with proper form & technique. I'm not trying to record anyone else around me. But for some reason, I'm singled out when everyone else is doing the same thing. Including YOUR OWN EMPLOYEES.
I find it very hypocritical & unprofessional to single me out. To top that off, this is the only location I've ever been singled out by an employee on this matter. At various other locations, they encourage us to do so. As I'm sure that they see it as free promotion for the gym. That is if the person chooses to share their stuff on social media.
If recording in your gym is an issue, I'd like to see some fine print. I'd also like to see this policy enforced in EVERY LOCATION AT ALL TIMES. Don't try & single one individual out & then have literally tens of thousands of members posting stuff on various social media outlets. I would honestly like to know if such rules are coming from Todd Magazine or Gary Nadler. Otherwise, it makes zero sense.
Secondly, I understand that there will now be an hour time limit for exercising at this location due to lines getting out of hand. However, I should be able to reserve a time slot for myself in advanced even before the lines were getting out of hand.
It's extremely inconvenient as a member to plan on getting in a workout at 10am but then have to wait an half an hour or more in sub 40 degree whether during winter.
This location really needs to take notes from locations such as 3rd Ave on 149th, or some of the locations in Manhattan like East 54th or the location in Downtown Brooklyn on...
Read moreThis Blink Gym was my only gym in my area for sometime, it has its pros and cons as I have been to gyms across the country. I would only come here if you live near this gym.
Pros: It has all you need for most workout routines. The space is somewhat ample and you can finish your workout pretty quick in the morning between 5 am to 8 am when there is only a couple of people. Sometimes the staff is friendly and that would make my day.
Cons: There is no gym etiquette here, expect to become disappointed by the people who attend this gym. Especially in the afternoon and evening. You will see weight plates everywhere, you will see dumbells scattered across the gym, people hogging machines for 15 minutes plus with no intention of using the machine within the timeframe. If you do decide to come to this gym, try and go in the morning when most people attending actually come here to finish their workouts in a reasonable amount of time.
Another Con, is the lack of wipes in some of the cannisters. There needs to be employees looking out for empty cannisters every 4 hours or so.
Another massive Con in my opinion is the cancellation fees, they are extremely predatory. Why the hell is this a thing? I bet not even most of the employees of Blink agree with this, including the one responding to these reviews. I blame Corporate for this one.
Overall, I have lived in the area for 5 years and this was my main gym, It has its flaws but if you come here with an objective in mind, you can definitely achieve it even with...
