Glorified (bad) bodega. As of January 2022, the produce has consistently been awful (or nonexistent) for the past two months. Staff treats you like an annoyance, at best, just for shopping there. Overpriced and a limited selection, to boot. I’d rather walk the 10 extra blocks to an alternative, even in a snowstorm. EDIT: Went back by recently, just to give them another chance, and nothing had changed. Produce was clearly on its last leg, lots of soft and black spots across the board, and the store was a mess. Came back home and immediately discovered that the loaf of bread I'd bought was molded through. While I'm loving Astoria's new composting initiative, I didn't expect to be composting my groceries before I even had a chance to use them. Likely not going back at this point.

My 1st time coming here. I was throughly impressed by how clean the store was. I'm used to sliding in Queens around 0400-0700 every week. This time I came way earlier. So ai came in here to grab a few things. I'm not used to all these stores being open. So I def got what I was looking for. The young man who rang me up was professional & courteous. Will def come back again if im in the city this early. They have a lot of options. So you should def find whatever you're looking for. BAMA TRUCKER

I brought a bunch of Basil that was tightly wrapped in saran wrap. on the plate is what I can actually use. The rest has turned brown. It's not an ethical way to run a business.

This place stinks.

The only reason they get 2 stars from me is because they carry Milo chocolate mix, which everyone else seems to have taken off their shelves. Other than that, they suck. I have come here occasionally because they're so close and seriously ended up regretting it. NEVER BUY THE MEAT. On every occasion that I have bought meat from them, I have to instantly throw it out when I get home because when I open the package, it smells so bad, and is all brown from rot on the bottom, that I have to take it to the garbage cans outside the apartment building to throw it out. That's even if they have the cut of beef I'm looking for, usually flank or skirt. Normally they don't carry anything too fancy. Forget rib eye or filet mignon, that's not even in any of these people's vocabulary. And if they did, they wouldn't know how to keep any of it fresh anyways. Overpriced at that.

Another reviewer hit the nail right on the head, it's a hood market. Honestly, I think the owner owned a bodega in some hood before this and one day decided "Oye yo I'm gonna open up a supermarket becuz I'm el bodeguero yo!" and decided to open up his hood market in edge of astoria and thought he'd bring the prices up since it was a nice neighborhood. Part of being in a nice neighborhood is having nice stuff, people here know quality, but knowing or learning that is beyond the capacity of the...

One of the dirtiest Super Markets you can find in Astoria specially when it comes to their Deli. They don't believe in changing gloves! With the same gloves which he touched all the surfaces including broom and dustpan, he went straight to making sandwiches. If you ask him to change his gloves, he'll give you an attitude the size of Pennsylvania! To make the matter worst, I saw the cashier prepping the juice bar, stocking the juice bar and cutting beets without gloves and with long blue finger nails yesterday morning! It made me sick to my stomach! Where is the health inspector when you need one? And to top that, their Deli grilled chicken made my cat sick on several occasions. The chicken smelled strange as I was heating it and as soon as my cat ate it, she vomited. I have bought grilled chicken from other places and it has never made my cat sick. The back of the building which belongs to the store and is their dumpster area is always dirty and smells awful. They never clean it! You can always find fruits and vegetables that are rotten and going bad on the shelves for sale. And the list goes on.....!!! With all these health violations happening on daily bases, their prices are one of the most expensive...

Be wary of inflation adjusted prices and the effects of shrinkflation on anything you buy. Granted this is a direct response by the manufacturers and suppliers but supermarkets practice the same theft of food by giving you less for the same price. As others have noted, check expiration dates as many times you will be sold old expired food and drinks. Many items here are extremely overpriced. For example, the Birdeye corn as of this week was priced at $3.49 for one. On Amazon Fresh I purchased one for $1.29 each. That is an extremely high mark up and there is absolutely no excuse to charge people that much during the worst inflation in 40 years. Basically this store is an oversized, overpriced bodega. Not worth it except in an emergency. Check the price of milk for an indication of...
