2 Month Update

I’m feeling EXTRA grateful today for how my hair has grown out since my amazing experience at Space Salon.

A few months after bad dye job at another salon, I saw Salon Space on google maps while I was killing time before a nearby yoga class and they fit me in for a quick consultation immediately.

As soon as I sat in the chair, Adela said she could tell exactly what I didn’t like about my hair and explained how she could edit it. She had a vision immediately and I was there for it!

I learned that Adela has been at the salon for decades and ended up buying it a few years back. She has trained all the staff herself. When I tell you that she has that “celebrity stylist” experience, I might be underselling her.

I was very brave and asked for BANGS. Like Dakota Johnson bangs, from someone who has never cut my hair.

2 months later, I’m STILL finding details I love about this cut. The layers, the clean ends, how my bangs have grown and still flatter my face, and she somehow nailed the perfect brunette for my coloring. My hair still feels healthy and is much easier to manage. I’ve received SO many compliments and I can’t recommend Adela and her team enough. It truly felt therapeutic to be in her chair and I can’t believe how well she listens.

I’m honestly excited to go back and try a new style but she did such a good job I won’t need to for a while yet. So happy to have her and her team here...

I had been debating a cut for a bit as I try to get to know my curls, and finally bit the bullet. I walked in on a Saturday and I got lucky that there was a stylist who was free. Christine was an absolute gem. I've never had anyone take a look at my hair before doing anything to it, like she did! I was super self-conscious because my hair really isn't in the best shape. But I knew the entire time she was just trying to understand what we were both working with and what I wanted out of it. I ended up feeling adventurous and got a good chunk of it off. The entire time, Christine gave me the dos and don'ts to get my hair back to healthy and where I want it to be. It's exactly what I needed and I'm starting to understand my hair's needs better than I ever have. I'll definitely be back after the holidays to get a "check up" for my hair and maybe go with some more adventurous angles.

Quick, efficient, and very comfortable. The price is a bit more than I'd prefer to spend. But it was honestly the most cared for I felt in a salon seat, so well worth the money....

I have been visiting Space Salon for 15 years! Through 9 moves within NYC and many many life events, Janet was always there to help me in more ways than just being excellent with hair. Janet is the kindest warmest nicest human I have consistently experienced these past 15 years. Every single person working at Space is absolutely fantastic- warm and wonderful 💜 Having just heard that Janet has moved on to newer things, I need to express my immense gratitude and love to Janet and to everyone else who works there. Thank you, sincerely from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being there these past 15 years. Janet, you will always hold the best place in my memory and heart: one of love, patience, laughter and compassion. You didn’t simply listen, you heard me. Thank you. The salon too has changed over the years by incorporating many other spa services into the dynamic. It's always been a beautiful space. Now it is utterly spectacular!
