I am storing my belongings at CubeSmart – 119 W 145th St, New York, and I’m writing this review with extreme disappointment and anger.
After receiving an email from them regarding possible flooding and damage, I immediately responded to their notice with clear instructions not to enter or dispose of anything in my unit. I explained that I’m currently abroad and unable to make U.S. phone calls, and asked them to contact me by email if any action was necessary.
They never responded. No confirmation, no follow-up, no assurance. I sent urgent emails — no one wrote back. I am paying rent on time every month, yet I was left in a position where I had to beg to not have my belongings thrown away. I clearly stated that my items are not mold-prone and are all recorded/documented.
Let me make this clear: CubeSmart does NOT provide any flood protection — even though they know their storage units are at risk. They push full responsibility onto the customer, and in the case of an emergency, they remain completely unresponsive.
This is not just poor service. It is negligence. I pay my rent on time every month, and in return, I’m treated with silence and the threat of having my property thrown away without consent.
If anything is lost, damaged, or mishandled, I will pursue full financial compensation.
If you are looking for a storage company that respects your rights or values your trust — this is not the place. I will be filing a formal complaint with CubeSmart headquarters and may pursue compensation if anything is lost...

They curtly told me my appointment was canceled — not with empathy or professionalism, but with a smug, snide grin that made it clear they enjoyed delivering the inconvenience.
The energy was unmistakable: passive aggression masked as procedure. No help offered, no apology, just a gleeful dismissal and a disgusting smirk. I was left with nowhere to place my belongings after waiting two days, exactly as instructed, for a truck that had just confirmed my appointment that same morning.
It’s pathetic. People like that have no business in customer service. If you show up to work just to take out your bitterness on others — for a laugh, or to feel powerful for once in your miserable little life — you’re not serving anyone but your ego.

Read moreinitially there were issues securing the unit and i was less than happy with the customer service but decided to give the faciilty a chance and even told my son about the location because of the convenience and how clean and well lit the location was. however in less than 5 months this location raised the monthly on this small unit by 62% with less than 30 days notice. simply the combination of this bad business practice with such a major jump in price was just unacceptable. i felt that rather than looking for good customers they are using a bait and switch scam to lure customers and then take advantage which is unfortunate. though they have the right to increase there pricing i felt that less than 6 months and the amount of the increase was ridiculous. shame i liked the spot but i would not recommend anyone else for this location and have already warned the ones that i did recommend it to about the location practices so that they can be prepared should the same issue happens to them. lastly the check out was smooth and the young lady winnie was nice and pleasant and i told her so as well as highlighting...
