It appears that I was racially profiled in this store today. I am a black woman and I am also a long time customer of this store, so long it used to be called Deals. But I digress, the cashier, never seen this guy before, but I am sure you can guess his color, looks at me like a suspect when I first arrive in the store. I had walked in with a Target bag with a previous purchase from Walgreen's that had paper towels in my bag. I grab a cart and lay down my bag in the cart. I start browsing the store for the items I had intended to purchase here. I get to the register and as this guy is adding up the stuff. He asks what about those paper towels? I told him he was free to check them since they're from Walgreen's. And I pulled one out to show him. He says oh ok and goes back to finishing the transaction. Now the store cameras can verify I never touched any paper towels in the store and that I came in with my purchases. What ticked me off was the assumption that I tried to shoplift some paper towels and microaggressive way it was asked. Then upon clarification, no apology for the assumption. While I understand retail theft is a serious issue and it is becoming very insidious at this period in time. Don't go assuming that every black person is trying to steal something. And at least apologize for your error. Innocent until proven guilty is the saying correct? A black woman in a mask, does not someone a thief. I am highly perturbed and so tired of these assumptions. It is tiring af! This store is already bare as it is. Nothing really worth for me to steal in the first place. Do better Dollar Tree and teach your non POC employees better sensitivity and not to make assumptions without any proof and to work on their ...
Read moreThe WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I don't even want to give one star. I was on the line while holing a few items. The customer woman behind me put her items on the counter belt since he had a lot of items. When my turn came, the casher(an old African American woman) skipped me and started scanning the times of the woman after me. So I said to her 'No, I was before her', but she said 'I could not see yours since you didn't put yours on the belt.' as if like it was my fault and kept scanning her items. She did skipped me even after she heard I was before her. All customers behind me were speechless. I asked her to call a store manager but she ignored that request. Finally she called a store manager over the phone, but she told her as if like everything are my fault and she did nothing wrong. The store manager(she was a very young african american woman) finally shown up and I tried to explain what happened, but she didn't even try to listen to me. No apologetic at all and super rude and arrogant. Both store manager and the casher women were really rude, impolite, and worst retail store employees who I've ever...
Read moreThis is a great store to shop at unfortunately the manager and Saturday morning cashier are very rude. This was the second time they gave me a hard time about getting a double bag even after buying 19 items. The cashier put all of my items in one bag and that made it extremely heavy. Supposedly you can only get a double bag after 8 or 9 items. I had 19. When I asked the cashier to separate my items she put 4 items in a single bag and refused to give me a double even th ou ghost my picture frames were going right through the bag. I said I will buy a bag. How much? 10 cents 15 cents? Store manager and cashier said No they don't allow that. So I stood there arguing with them and my morning was ruined with aggravation. They also gave the elderly lady in front of me a hard time and she ended up buying 2 re-use blessed bags. I understand it's a dollar store but we also can't walk home holding out items in out hands. At least let us buy a...
