We had a disheartening experience for Mother’s Day at Sanfords. Start to finish was a bad experience; we were seated within our reservation time but noticed it was full capacity and within elbow’s reach of the table to the side of us by the window. We ordered fairly quickly and drinks were served reasonably. Our main issue was with the busgirl who constantly reached over us, full bodily- to the point she was on my chest. She cleaned the table so quickly that our appetizer was taken before we finished, my Mother’s drink was removed before finishing, and she tried taking my father’s plate - as he’s eating from a full dish of home fries! She then brushed the crumbs off the table right onto my lap, lettuce and all. Our next issues were with the food- my sister ordered no bacon and thought her food tasted smokey, later having to pick off bacon bits from her food. We notified the waiter and he apologized and comped us a lesser receipt item. My boyfriend’s short rib tacos were flavorless, he asked for chipotle sauce to attempt enjoying it and didn’t get it until we were halfway with our meals. He then requested another juice which he received after the other 5 of us finished our meals. After being rushed our entire meal by the busgirl and unattended by our server, it took 20 mins to get the check. I spoke with the Manager and it made things worse as her justification was the busgirl didn’t speak English and already knew who we were speaking of so clearly this is a known problem. It’s unfortunate because like other families, we don’t get out as much and where our money is spent is even more scrutinized . We understand the frustration that Mother’s Day outings can bring, we understand that communication can be difficult, we understand that everyone is doing their best with the pandemic. But why does the customer suffer? We paid the automatic 20% gratuity which was entirely unfair due to our experience. We had to search for the waiter when needed and waited so long.At the end of the day, Sanfords got our sales and that was the first and last time, which is unfortunate b/c my sister recommended and we were looking forward to a great meal together. All we got was frustration and a ruined Mother’s Day. I’m also adding the food was mediocre, not sure what the raves are about. Perhaps on a slow day things are better, but our experience won’t allow us to return. Please try to do better for...
Read moreDefinitely do not get anything delivered as that was my experience and never ate the food inside dining. So please take this review as a complete opinion of my takeout order. Ok I ordered the pulled pork sandwich (award winning?!), sweet potato fries, and french onion soup. First the app will not track delivery person. So, figured I would call and kindly ask the driver to call prior to arrival in order to not inconvenience the delivery person. They seemed to be annoyed by my call although polite and said the driver will call when downstairs. Sure enough the drivers call was marked as spam and went straight to VM. Luckily I noticed within a minute or so and immediately called back and let him know I would be right down. He was nice but seemed annoyed as well. It quite possibly might have been the same person that took my call earlier. I immediately went upstairs to finally dig into my much needed food order. Well, the picture below was my first piece of garbage I removed from the delivery bag. For those that cannot see it is supposed to be a pulled pork sandwich. It was unfortunately a squashed and deflated bun on top with a soaked and soggy lower bun?! The middle filling was a hunk of average at best pulled pork and a heaping side of red tortilla chips. The French onion soup was missing so much. There wasn’t much complexity to it to be honest and it was once again average at best. The sweet potato fries unfortunately were wet and soggy. There isn’t much you can do to have bad tasting sweet potato fries. Taste wise they were fine. But there are ways to send fried foods without them dying too much. Or you can deconstruct the menu item to keep the food from dying in transit. Most people have the ability to revive the temperature if the food wasn’t hot but the crisp was still there and things weren’t soggy. So, overall I had a bad experience but this isn’t an in person dining experience. So please do not take my review...
Read moreHorrible Service – Rushed, Rude, and Completely Unprofessional!
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My husband and I walked in at 10:58 PM on Valentine’s Day—well before their 12 AM closing time—only to be met with “Sorry, we’re closed” from the staff. After telling them we had traveled far, they reluctantly sat us, making it clear we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers.
From the moment we sat down, the waiter was rude, impatient, and completely unprofessional. My husband hadn’t even opened his menu when the waiter rushed us, repeatedly demanding: “What do you want? Pasta? We only have two pastas, which one? Hurry.” Excuse me? Are we dining at a restaurant or being forced to make life-or-death decisions in 10 seconds or less?
We were given zero time to properly look at the menu before the server threw in an order that we didn’t even get to choose. Then, the drink order was just as rushed. “Last call, what do you want?” as if we were bothering them by simply existing. This wasn’t a dining experience—it was a stressful nightmare that left us with indigestion because we were so rushed that we could barely chew our food properly.
The entire staff was clearly more concerned about getting out of there than actually providing service. If you don’t want to serve customers close to closing time, then change your hours. Otherwise, treat people with basic respect!
Absolutely do NOT waste your time or money here. This place is a joke. The worst dining experience I’ve ever had, and we rightfully left NO TIP because you don’t tip for rudeness, rushed service, and a ruined meal. Save yourself the headache and go...
