It's often in conflict with pedestrian traffic, especially in lower Manhattan (South Street piers). And there's one really narrow spot. I want to say it's around 23rd Street or so. Really tight. You'll have to walk your bike and have a really difficult time squeezing by oncoming pedestrians...
