Elegant 88 — Attraction in New York

My girls!!!! I happened to come across Elegant88 through a Google search when I was looking for nail salons in the area when my cousin came to visit for her birthday over a year ago and my regular nail tech wasn't available. While my cousin ended up going to a different nail salon, I saw Elegant88's work and the positive reviews and knew I wanted to try them myself some day. However, being that I had been a regular with my nail tech for over 8 years, I wanted to remain loyal as a client. But when my nail tech went on vacation over the summer, I decided I would try them since I was also going on vacation and would need my nails done. Now, let me preface this by saying that I am a nail girl through and through. I am highly particular when it comes to the execution of my nails, the shape, the level of detail and precision and I prefer more intricate and elaborate designs and layouts, many of which I conceive myself or conjure up from inspo. So my nail tech has be to good at translating those ideas. Needless to say, I was extremely nervous about trying another nail tech, but decided to go ahead and book since my choices were limited and I told myself to just keep my expectations low to avoid disappointment. When I tell you that I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY after my first appointment, I knew for certain that I had found my new nail tech in Ellie and would not be returning to my regular nail tech again. Lol! Ellie and Jenn are absolutely THEE best in Bayside, if not the entire borough of Queens. And they are just as kind, sweet and accommodating as they are talented. The salon is well stocked, clean, organized and they even have complimentary Hershey's kisses.😊 Their pricing is EXTREMELY reasonable, especially for their level of service. They follow the latest nail trends and technology and are always up for a design challenge or to create something unique and beautiful. Prior to coming to Elegant 88, I frequented other nail salons in the area where the service always felt rushed and the techs always try to upsell me. The nail techs at these salons have never properly removed my acrylics. They would use a metro card to separate the acrylic from my natural nails or use an electric file to file them down to my natural nails.

When I visited Elegant 88 for the first time, Eli removed an old set of acrylics for me & she was extremely gentle - there was no pain or burning which completely shocked me!! When it comes to the care, shaping, & design of my nails - she is extremely detail oriented & ensures I am satisfied with my nails each step of the way. The nail salon is relatively small, so definitely make an appointment beforehand. Imo it’s a good thing because that means their work is quality quantity, since a lot of the other salons in the area are the other way around.
