Sweet sister nail and spa — Local services in New York

I asked for mid length soft Square and the color funny bunny they made them flat without any type of curve. The back is completely flat. I showed a photo for reference which they didn’t take 1 look at. They had a lot to say about how my finger is curved and that it is the shape of my finger to why it looks this way. I asked Multiple times if she can fix the cricket middle finger to which she replied “my finger go sideways” after she seen I got frustrated a man came to try and fix it for me he added acrylic to try and fix some of the bumps she made ( which didn’t help) he also couldn’t fix the shape that she made so another lady tried. I noticed that there was no fixing the shape so I let it go because soon as I arrived I noticed a huge ( NO REFUNDS) sign. I figured I wasn’t gonna win anyway so why bother ? She rushed me out of the uv light after I told her I don’t think there ready drying (considering working with gel you should apply a few coats to each finger before putting the entire hand in she just applied the gel to all my nails and cured once ) . She told me it’s fine and that it is in fact dry so I decided to leave And soon after that bubbles started to appear ( check photos for reference) on 2 of my fingers the gel completely peeled off. I went back the next day n asked if they can Atleast fix the gel color because it was literally peeling they did it but seemed pretty upset about it I mentioned to the girl that was (helping me) that yesterday the girl made my nails flat didn’t give me the correct color and the bubbles formed from not enough drying she ignored me considering she didn’t have a way to blame this on me because she could obviously see what her coworker had done wrong. But the day before that they had a lot to say about my finger structure and which way it was pointing. Anyways after that she also only wanted to dry my nails once I mentioned to her that’s why the bubbles started to form she left me dry once more n rushed me out during all this they spoke to each other laughing n such . They did fix the color but the nails r still really horribly shaped and hurting my fingers. Very horrible experience. I also noticed a lot of there reviews say that they “ do not treat there customers this way” which isn’t true they do in fact treat there customers this way I am aware that they will probably reply saying something to stand up for them selfs which I’m pretty sure will be something along the lines of this didn’t happen . I usually come here every two weeks to get my nails done with David. Always tip. This time I came, got polka dots on 2 nails on each hand. Next day I come back because I want to add polka dots on my other fingers, usually they charge $2 each nail for gel nail design. The lady with orange short bob with bangs who I’m guessing is the owner and David who I’ve been a loyal customer too, had the audacity of trying to tell me I had to pay $20 basically a new reg manicure price instead of $12 to add POLKA DOTS to 6 of my fingers because they had to “redo all my nails so the polka dots stayed on”. I said “ok can we just do it with regular polish? I’m sure it’ll dry just fine”. Instant no with attitude. Not even a try! I came home and painted over it with regular nail polish and it stayed just fine. They just wanted to scam me out of extra money. It’s not even about the money it’s about the principal that they are being untrustworthy. You feel like you’re being taken advantaged of. David used to be very nice in the beginning but now he’s become very arrogant and rude you can’t even ask him simple questions like a person without him seeming to get agitated or dismissive instantly. My nails used to stay for 2weeks no chip (square French) which is why I kept going back, and recently they’ve been breaking and chipping within a week. No David I haven’t been doing anything different at work/home for it to chip and break so fast. You can obviously tell it’s the acrylic lifting and he just puts more acrylic over it like a bandaid which is causing breakage. I ask him if I can do a fresh new acrylic set to combat chipping, he gives pushback. Im never difficult, always nice, I get the same simple design all the time. I’m so upset I’ve recommended them to so many people and have been super loyal. TERRIBLE customer service Sweet Sisters. You’re damaging business for yourself for lack of professionalism.

Update 2025: I did the dip powder and the spa pedicure that has hot stones - I forgot the name of the spa pedicure. They, sadly, did not give me the hot stones. They said it was because it was too hot (the weather). That was true but I think they should inform the customer if they’re removing a feature of the service, or warn us at least, and allow the customer to consent to the change or not because at the end of the day, we are paying for the service and they did not discount the feature off the service… I would say if you’re looking for a bargain deal go here but if you want to invest in top notch service, then maybe go elsewhere.

2024:Today was the first time I went to this cute nail salon. I purchased combo #4 (powder manicure and tea tree spa pedi). I had my powder gel manicure done by the first nail technician (I forgot to ask her name) and the second technician (Liz) did my spa pedicure. I would definitely go again due to the bargain prices and the nice customer service. I felt Liz went above and beyond. The hand nail tech did a good job but some of the powder residue got stuck on some of the nail beds and a few nails have very small/ slight edges where the powder did not stay fully, and I know I could have advocated for myself but I also felt she could have inspected my nails to ensure the best quality. My two feedback for the spa pedi (as you can see in the picture) two nails’ polish are slightly chipped off but maybe I could have stayed longer at the drying station (I did stay for 15 mins) & they should include callus remover or a paraffin treatment as other nail salons offer. But Liz was so sweet to put the quick dry oil and wrap my feet 💕I see the reviews say that Sam and David are the best. I would give this place another chance 🙏🏼 with Liz,...
