They asked me to buy the entire fish in the open deli. They sell fish by pound with head attached, I removed the head which I do not choose to buy with their clipers and placed it back in the tray for those willing to buy it and was about to add more fish to the tray with same price weight. But the lady that works there who looked at my tray insisted I need to buy the entire fish including non edible head. She had me talk to the manager of the store to who'm I explained that when they sell chicken, clearly the head is not attached, to which the manager replied "sorry this is the store policy" (refering to the fish). I offered to buy the fish as I broke it, they denied. Clearly they rip people off for non edible weight in food items by asking them to buy it and make a profit on that. The manager told me to not be upset, I replied back "I'm not, I just won't be coming back to the store" as I walked out. I initially gave this place 5 stars a while ago as I was their regular customer, but this experience left me with disgust with their practice ripping people off for non edible weight. Never coming back to this store with their policy, as my policy is not to support businesses that sell non edible food...
Read moreI have been shopping here since they were a tiny store across the street to where they are now. This place has grown beautifully. They have such a large selection of everything and anything you or your family members could think of. They excel in European foods. This includes a wide variety of salami's, sausages, cheese and fish. They have a large selection of olives that are fresh and barrels. The same thing goes for pickles. They carry both hot and cold foods that are cooked to perfection. The ladies that work behind the deli counter are great! My personal favorite is Julie. She used to work behind the deli, but today she was at the register. She's been taking care of me for many years. They have a huge bakery section with lots of desserts to entice you. They have a fresh meat department that I have yet to take advantage of. Their fruits are all fresh and full of life and color. The pics and video I took does not do any justice. You need to visit this place and shop here. Anything you get, you won't be...
Read moreIt’s a great store with horrible employees. They sell expired butter (President), chicken sausages, Russian kolbasa, sour cream and milk. You have to be very careful when doing grocery shopping there. Not to mention that the Russian speaking woman with wide eyebrows in the deli isle is never happy and always overwhelmed while there is only one customer. She got upset I asked her to sell me 8 blintzes instead of 15. You can see she hates her job. Anyways, fruits might be good, ready to eat foods are mostly from the day before especially pastries are most of the time old. They do have fresh salads on Fridays. Maybe that’s the only day before Shabbas when you can buy something you need. An old man at the bread isle got upset that I asked him to give me round bread from today not from yesterday. I understand you want to sell old bread first but I come to the store to buy today’s fresh bread. I am sorry. I wouldn’t recommend shopping there unless you specifically check the expiration date on every item you want...
