Gowanus Canal Black Mayonaisse Park — Attraction in New York

In the crammed corners of New York City living, this is a welcome sanctuary away from the hubbub of the crowds. Ducks and herons can occasionally be spotted in what is the beginning of what will likely be a beautiful spot 10 years time (if all goes according to the Gowanus Canal cleanup plans). In the meantime, I like what they did with the park. A little bit of greenspace, mixed with a patio (complete with tables and chairs) makes for a good way to spend an afternoon in Brooklyn. Considering how disgusting the Gowanus Canal is you could consider this an oasis. Nice benches to sit on right along the water. Plenty of people walking dogs come through here. You will find some skateboarders there...

It's a nice walking path. Mornings smell heavily like dog urine and in the evenings, in addition to dog urine, the entire waterfront smells like weed from the groups of teens that hang out...
