amazing cakes!! will try to revisit soon i got thai tea passionfruit with earl grey cream-top frosting and it was as gorgeous as the pics online, even more so in-person? i usually dont even like cakes (i also usually dont even leave reviews either lol) but i was happy to get this whole cake (whole being unusual, usually it's too much!), and even didnt want to share with my friends (bc i wanted the whole thing to myself) but of course i did share with my friends who all thought it was so good and wanted to know where it was from. i learned of this place from a friend who wanted to kind of gatekeep it (but obviously she did tell me and now i feel bad im betraying her by also spreading the word to my friends👀) bc she loved it so much, and now i know the reason why! i also want to selfishly want to keep it to myself(what if it gets too popular and changes?) but it's TOO good not to share :) i will be back as soon as i can to try a different cake. also i love all the interesting flavors and combos and the aesthetic!! it is sooo pretty
to summarize, visually: artistic and beautiful, i personally love this style- im willing try some cakes with flavors i dont particularly care for because the cake looks beautiful taste: no notes from me, absolutely delicious, very interesting flavor combinations- i love the creativity, and even the cakes with flavors that dont appeal to me i get interested in by the particular combinations of listed flavors price: absolutely worth it to me
the only bad thing for me is how far it is (1hr away from ues) with pick-up only (which is totally understandable, cakes need gentle transit), and so i cant go as often as i would want to... but actually this is also a good thing, so im not spoiling myself eating too much cake
i didnt dine in so idk about the atmosphere but seemed cozy, intimate, sunny. i had trouble finding the pick-up location at first but it's a whole byclio bakery with a sign and with indoor seating- the map made it look like it was near the corner of the street so i was accidentally ringing random doorbells at...
Read moreIt was a quiet Friday morning in June, the kind where the city hasn’t quite woken up yet. I was mid-run, not expecting to pause—until I caught a glimpse of something quietly beautiful tucked along 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn. ByClio Bakery. No fanfare, no crowd. Just a soft glow spilling through the windows and a stillness that made you stop.
Stepping inside felt like entering someone’s thoughtfully curated home. The interior was understated yet intentional—soft tones, open shelves, and gentle lighting that made everything feel hushed but alive. It was the kind of space where nothing tries too hard, yet everything speaks with clarity. The pastry case was a work of art in itself, each piece carefully crafted and somehow whispering your name.
I chose two that felt impossible to leave behind: – Turkish Coffee Cookie — rich, fragrant, and with a roasted depth that lingered like a memory you didn’t want to shake off. – Persian Love Cake — delicately perfumed with rose, grounded with cardamom, and finished with pistachio. The kind of flavor that doesn’t arrive all at once—it opens, it unfolds.
What stood out just as much as the pastries was the hospitality. AP, the barista behind the counter, welcomed me with genuine warmth—no script, no rush. Just the kind of quiet kindness that stays with you.
ByClio isn’t just a bakery—it’s a space where care lives in every detail. They also bake and cater bespoke cakes for larger gatherings, celebrations, and events. From what I saw and tasted, I can only imagine how special those must be.
There are places you pass by and forget. And then there are places like ByClio—small, unassuming, but unforgettable. I’ll be back—not just for another taste, but for the stillness, the beauty, and the sense that good things are still...
Read moreTLDR; very dry cake and under-decorated
I debated writing this review because a low rating is obviously not good for a small business and I empathize with that. However, my cakes were so disappointing and I feel like $111 just went down the drain. My cakes were so incredibly dry and my full cake was clearly underdecorated. I got the Thai tea whole cake for my mom’s bday and an orange sage olive oil cake slice to try for potentially my future own bday order. I understand per the description for the whole cake, designs are going to vary but this “design” is no where near the level of artistry of photos online and from other people’s reviews. I’m confused why my cake was so much simpler than others, with just a few simple carnations around the rim. Maybe it was the end of the day (5pm delivery) and was done in a rush? I feel falsely advertised to in this case of instagram vs real life. If you order, don’t expect your cake to look comparable to photos online—you may get unlucky. As for taste, the flavors were good but texture was dry.
When I tried the orange sage olive oil slice, it was shocking much more dry, gritty and crumbly. I took one bite and gave my friend a bite thinking I was going crazy bc no way a cake should be like this, but she thought the same. We just ended up throwing it out. I wish I had a video of me breaking into the slice which would show how crumbly it was. It seemed like it wasn’t fresh / had been left in open air for a while at the store. It was the driest cake I’ve ever had, it was almost like a cookie. (And no I didn’t leave the slice out or take too long to eat it)
Very disappointing since this bakery has such stellar reviews and staff is nice + this is a small business I really thought I’d like and was excited...
