This is by FAR the WORSE place my mother has ever been in. For the past 8 months, my mother has been in and out of hospitals and rehabs she came in from the hospital after having her leg amputated. she had other medical issues which caused her to need to have blood drawn at least once a week. she went there and 5 days later was back in the ER for a blood transfusion. she returned to the nursing home and her condition continued to deteriorate. I noticed she was lethargic and not eating. SHE HATED THE FOOD and i understand why. After 8 days of my complaining her blood work was re drawn and it was discovered, as i thought her blood levels were low again requiring her to need a blood transfusion. the Nursing supervisor who called to tell me was named Tony (a lady) . when i asked why they were going to do she told me they would look for a hematologist and make an appointment. This was a long term solution, but since she was CLEARLY sick now, i wanted to know the plan of care. she said there was nothing that could do because she wasn't "critical enough" i began screaming at her that she was going to let my mother lay there and die because they wouldn't send her for treatment. our call was disconnected and she never bothered to call me back. she was rude and unprofessional. Her blood work was repeated and her numbers continued to drop lower. FINALLY an ambulance was called to take her to the hospital. when she arrived at the ER, her glucose was a 36, she had bumps all round her mouth and color bone. the Dr. said she was severely dehydrated. They are very short staff.... They have left my mother sitting in her feces for an hour, MULTIPLE TIMES. They keep all the patient in wheelchairs sitting in the hall as they sleep or whatever they do. The men are able to walk into ladies rooms because they are housed on the other side of the floor. There are open panels in the ceiling with wires exposed. the only 2 people I think may have cared about my mother and her situation was Luz and Nicholas. but even speaking to them it was too late. My mother is still in the hospital as we speak . this happened a week ago. This is a place people come who don't have family or loved ones visiting so they cant see what is happening. This is not a place of healing. There were PHENOMINAL nurses who took care of her, but they were few and far in between. They seem like they are more concerned with how they are getting paid rather than the care the patient needs. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED HERE....
Read moreThis by far have been the worst experience of my life. I am 27 and I’m temporarily in Rehad until I’m able to put weight on my left leg and ankle which is broken and my right leg which was use to take the nerves out and put it in my hand. I’ve witnessed a lot of mistreatment from the elderly including myself. I have an 87 year old roommate who’s speaks extremely well. She continuously calls on the nurses to change her pamper. However, they brush her off and say they’re going to get an aid. They’d leave her in the same pamper for hours. Now I’m non weight bearing. I have to physically get up to get an aid or nurse to tend to my 87 year old roommate. Her mouth is extremely dry, in which I believe it is dehydration. Instead of them figuring what’s going on with her they stuff a pain killer down her mouth so she can go to sleep. They even forgot to feed her dinner. I had to personally take my tray and give it to her so she can eat. Then an hour later after dinner and complaining they came in with a tray for her. All of the elderly comes to me to adovocate for their wants and needs after being ignored and voiceless. I got very sick yesterday October 7th, 2018. I was throwing up and having diarrhea at the same time. It is now October 8th, and the throw up is still all over the floor in the bathroom. I’m not suppose to do anything by myself, that’s the purpose of me being here. However, I do everything by myself from washing, to hopping to the toilet in which I’m not suppose to put pressure on either legs. They don’t give me nor the other patients medicine on time. If they’re changing their shifts, they make you wait an hour or two until the shift changes. This place is HORRIBLE, UNSANITARY, and NASTY. I’ve witnessed it with my own two eyes. DO NOT PUT ANY OF YOUR FAMILY IN HERE. It’s like setting them...
Read moreMy father was in the hospital for approximately 3 months, and it was time for him to go to a rehabilitation center. We visited a few in our neighborhood, and were hoping he would be accepted into one that we had chosen. Unfortunately, this did not happen. I remember the phone call that I received from the social worker that Monday afternoon, as if it was yesterday. She said to me that they were discharging my dad, and I needed to pick another rehab center for him. At this point, tears started to roll off my cheeks. I was feeling so frustrated and overwhelmed. However, a decision had to be made and time was limited. With the help of the internet and my Mom, we choose HUDSON POINTE REHABILIATION AND NURSING CENTER. Remember, we did not visit this place – so basically we were sending him to a place which we didn’t know how it would operate. Today, I can truly say that this was one of the BEST decisions I have ever made. The staff is extremely friendly and caring. All of our concerns and requests are taken into consideration and granted to the best of my father needs. By the grace of God and with the help of this rehabilitation center, my dad will be heading home very soon.
I must tell you about the admission director – Mrs. Luzelena Serrano (Lucy). She is the BEST. She is a very caring and loving person. She went out of her way to accommodate us. At no time at all did she not assist us in whatever way she could. We need MORE like Mrs. Serrano in this world! In short, she is a GEM.
Without a shadow of a doubt, I would recommend this rehab center to all of my friends and family. And if you need a rehab center, look no further, HUDSON POINTE...
