This place seafood department is not honest. I’m a long time customer go to this place shop. I bought their lobster 🦞 they have 12.99 a pound since last year to January 2021. The largest lobster in size for that price is 3 pound .. every time I go there the staff lie about the lobster like I don’t know and make me feel like a first time customer . They told me they don’t have 3 pound lobster mean while they do have it . Every time I go there it’s not pleasant shopping experience and their customer service is very bad even. I complained two times . From February to now April I have not been to this market to shop . This week Monday April 5, 2021. I went to this supermarket and wanted to look for the big lobster . When I went in the tank was empty . So I decided to ask the staff . There were two Spanish staff working. They were very rude . They don’t even understand what I am saying to them. What kind of customer service is this. Beside the poorness the big lobster price went up to 18.99. In the past it was 12.99 a pound. Those employee staffs don’t know what the hell I am talking about. The price went up then went up . But it’s a shame the kind of customer service they provide to customers is very bad. The staff members even argue with customers as well. The place need to have a huge improvement and hire people that understand fluent Chinese, English etc. I don’t like to complain but this is way to much .... it’s disgusting how the service I recieve is very poor all the time. I am not new customer . I am regular customer that goes there and recieve the poor behavior from the staff members from seafood department. I cannot give a good rating. The service I recieve is very bad. Need a huge...
Read moreI don’t leave reviews, even when I am unsatisfied with a service or a place, but I have witnessed more than once, of how rude and disgusting IOG staff treats customers. I’ve been coming to this supermarket for over 7 years. First of all, they tend to sell expired items, so please make sure to check the expiration date or manufacturing date on everything whenever you are able to. Their vegetables are never fresh, tend to go bad within a couple days after purchase. Secondly, they sell fruits that grow mold. Recently, I saw an elderly customer examining boxes of blueberries to see if they were good for purchase, she spent some time in front of the blueberries, perhaps her eyesights are getting bad with age. Then comes a staff (perhaps a manager or some sort), literally yelled at her in Mandarin, questioning what she was doing. I took a look at the blueberries, yep, they were growing mold. The elderly wasn’t sure whether she was seeing it correctly and I had confirmed with her that there are indeed mold growing on the blueberries. I told the staff that their blueberries are no good. He did nothing about it. More than once I have see IOG staff being rude to a customer or yelled at customers. Customers aren’t always right, but the elderly woman did nothing wrong. If they are rude to their own people, I can’t imagine how they treat people of other nationalities.
I only shop at IOG when I am desperately in need of something, and I have learned to be very careful with examining the expiration/manufacturing dates. Oh, and I stay away from their fruits.
P.S. the Hispanic staff at the meat section are nice and friendly....
Read moreThis review was about a customer experience I had with one of their disgruntled employee that this Chinese market employs. On Saturday February 21, my son and daughter were following me around while I was shopping for fruits. Like any 6 year old kids, my son was curious and asking me about the names of the fruit by touching it. I normally told him not to because the fruits are usually not washed. An employee immediately came over and instructed him not to touch. I walked away with my son without saying a word. Then my son went and touched the bananas and made a comment that the bananas were tiny and cute. The same employee again came over to my son instructed him not to touch. I was at a boiling point and responding back by asking him what harm would a child’s touch on the banana’s skin do to a banana? The employee started to argue with me and used all sort of foul languages. At that point I demanded him to speak to his supervisor or manager. I was surprised that the whole time he was cursing and yelling at me there was neither supervisor nor manger to be found. I guessed they were all too scared to intervene by tugged their tails between their legs! Really! You have an employee that was yelling and cursing at a customer and dares to come forward? I have been shopping in that supermarket for eight years. I will never return to that supermarket again, even I have to travel extra 20 miles to find another Chinese...
