I visited the Pokeworks Fresh Meadows location (61-24 190th St) around 5:30 PM and had an extremely uncomfortable experience with the supervisor, Alex (or Alexandria), and her team. From the moment I walked in, Alex gave me a cold, hostile stare. I politely asked if the Huli Huli chicken could be torched—even though it’s not standard—and she immediately cut me off with attitude, saying in a power-tripping tone, “I’m not going to authorize that.” It was unnecessary and dismissive.
I let it go and switched to shrimp—which is supposed to be torched—and asked that it be done before the sauce. She made an issue out of that too. One employee (Asian girl, name unknown) walked away mid-order saying, “I’m not going to deal with this,” even though I remained calm and respectful the whole time. Alex then told the staff not to finish my order. I stood there ignored while my shrimp sat on the counter untouched. When I asked for Alex’s name, she ignored me and tried to give a fake one until I saw her name tag.
Finally, she told Bri to finish the bowl. Bri wasn’t directly rude but acted petty—burning the shrimp to a crisp, dumping excess crunch, and charging extra for green onions, which has never happened before. I paid and left with a meal I didn’t enjoy and a really bad feeling.
This isn’t the first time Alex has acted like this—she’s consistently rude and seems to enjoy using her role to be difficult. Meanwhile, the male supervisor, Steve, has always been professional and respectful. The team acted like a clique, backing each other while treating a polite customer like a problem. Something needs to be done about the way this...
Read moreI’ve ordered from here for years and never had an issue such as the issue I had today. I placed an order since 1pm through the Pokeworks app, I waited an hour for it to arrive as usual, and got a text from the delivery driver saying I’m here and that he has left my order outside as requested. I check the cameras on my property there is no delivery driver or order outside. I then call DoorDash which is responsible for the delivery portion I understand, they said that the delivery adress provided through Pokeworks system does not match my adress. I was confused as I’ve been placing orders here for years and never ran into this issue. So I then proceed to call the store and tell them about this issue, a worker told me that they will remake my order and send it out with another driver just to wait. I also specifically asked if I will get a confirmation for this new order with tracking and they said no just to wait it will be delivered. Then at 4pm there was still no delivery driver or order outside my property. So then I call the store again and was told that I would have to replace my previous order and that they were under the “assumption” that DoorDash would just send a driver. If I had never called back the store I wouldn’t have received a refund or any communication in regards to my order. Usually the store is great and my go to spot, but perhaps new employees or current management needs review or further training in communication and in the handling delivery orders. I feel uneasy placing orders here any further, although I do quite frequently, and in addition to this order refund they also owe me another refund on...
