Grand opening for Fresh Meadows. It took a while. This store sells a lot of their own brands. To be honest I have never heard of them before. First impression. Very crowded. Tight isles. Chaotic check out lines. Overall a weird lay out. A lot of cardboard boxes being used as shelves. Cleanup needed by the strawberries. Flowers look wilted. But for only $8.99 its ok. A lot of the produce looks beaten up too.⁷ Later that night... Ok so I had time to unpack the groceries. The dz red roses that I found came out nicely in a vase. The tbone thick cut steak , at 30% off, turned out juicey and delicious. A bargain. The walnut bread was good. However it needs more walnuts. Although great with butter. The croissants, buy one get one, were delicious. Crispy, flakey and soft.

I’ve been shopping at Lidl for years, and this new Fresh Meadow location is a gem! The huge parking lot is a major plus, especially in NYC. With today’s inflation, Lidl’s affordable prices on fresh produce and groceries are a lifesaver. But let’s talk about the bakery section—it’s hands down the best I’ve experienced at any Lidl. There’s always a line for their fresh baked goods, and for good reason! I recently tried their new Cronut (Crossaint Donut) for just 99 cents, and it’s incredible—light, flaky, and not overly sweet. Overall, this Lidl location has become one of my favorite grocery stores. Highly recommend! šŸ›’šŸ„

No shopping carts by front entrance ever and now they don’t have any bags in the store you can’t carry anything outside the store they don’t have paper bags nor the small bags for croissants this is every day here! Such a disorganized and mismanaged supermarket everything is mostly junk food with high sodium here. Just go to Trader Joe’s instead at least they have bags and shopping carts!!! Outraged.

I stopped going to Lidl because the lines are too long and it is just a waste of my time, I much rather go to Aldis where the self checkouts are always open and only have to wait as much as 5 minutes to checkout, The self checkouts, only 5 of the original 9 are working, at Lidl are closed in the mornings and in the evenings when most people shop, so you have wait upwards of 20 minutes to be checked out if you go at that those times. The self checkouts are only open from 12 noon to 6pm. I have turned around so many times now after seeing how long the lines are in the morning. It's crazy that they don't want more sales, I guess they don't care about turning over sales and especially the carts, which are a high commodity. I wish they had the self checkouts opened when they open. It would be more convenient for early risers / shoppers, especially now that we are not in daylight savings time anymore, and now there are no more shopping carts, they should implement the quarter deposit that Aldis does then the customers would put them rather than leave them all over the parking lot. Update, they removed 2 of the self check out registers to put more displays, and now the self checkouts have lines, too, what...

This store has good prices. The items that are advertised on sale are mostly available. The store is a bit messy. Lots of items scattered around. There is a shortage of carts. They’re impossible to find. I had to wait for another customer to finish unloading their packages into their car so I could use the cart. They do have cart spots in the parking lot but they are always empty.

Today I was in a bit of a rush, had to wait for the cart, then shopped. I spent about 35 minutes in the store. I had a full cart. I waited in a long line, then I heard customer at the register say she didn’t have cash. They were only taking cash today. They did not make an announcement and there was no sign on the entrance door. If I didn’t over hear it I wouldn’t have known. I then told everyone around me that they were not taking any card payments at all. Only cash. About 10 of us did not have cash. The manager did come out to say the readers were down and he did not know how long it would be for it to be working. I was in a rush and could not wait. I had to leave my full cart behind. A lot of other customers did the same. Who knows how long it was down for. It’s just not a well...

Lidl was great when it opened but lately their service has gone downhill. I think they need to hire a better store manager and team. First of all there’s no shopping carts or baskets available whatsoever especially near the entrance of the store. They’re losing out on so much sales by not having any baskets available for customers you can only carry 4-5 items in your hands. If I had a basket I’d buy 10-15 items. Secondly their self checkout registers are always closed at busy times causing long lines and slow service. Thirdly, their flyers are very shady and have fine print of odd dates that sales run, the lidl app will show a flyer that’s for next week and when the customer comes in they’re charged the higher price. The flyers also have some items on sale but in store the sale price is not honored and the cashier says it’s a different store but the app has the correct location set as my home store. Very shady. There are also different dates of some sale items. You have read the tiny fine print on the flyer. Overall I rarely go here anymore and other supermarkets have better service. I hope the lidl corporate team reads this and...
