Häagen-Dazs — Restaurant in New York

Located next to blaze pizza on 188th st right next to the Horace Harding Expressway/LIE going eastbound. Small interior with a few tables/chairs lining the windows to sit and eat. I must say they were very clean when I visited. What you expect from a premium ice cream store, higher priced but good tasting, and they offer options from cups/cones, ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes, smoothies, variety of topping choices.

One person was behind the counter when I walked in. He did not greet me or acknowledge my presence. About 3 minutes of me standing there, another person came from the back and acknowledged I was there. I ordered a small dulce de leche dazzler sundae. From the picture posted on the wall, it appeared to be dulce de leche ice cream with caramel and banana layered between. Unfortunately, the employee filled the cup with just ice cream, threw the caramel and a few banana slices on top, and topped it with some whipped cream.

They had no problem putting the item in a paper bag and provided a long handle plastic spoon and several napkins. I paid $9.74 for an almost filled cup of ice cream. Although always delicious because it's Häagen-Dazs, still a small cup of ice cream with what was supposed to be layered toppings placed on top.

My daughter & I like this place alot and at this point have visited so often that i feel this review is based on a consistent experience or collective experience. The workers here have always been nice and pleasant. We have ordered ice cream shakes. My favorite is java chip and my mini mes fav dulce de leche. The place is usually clean and has inside seating. The area outside has also seating (without service). In the summer & spring its a perfect place to sit.

My current favorite is their holiday edition, peppermint bark. Sooooo good. I had that in a shake with vanilla swiss almond and fudge. No complaints!!! It was heaven for me.

Yes this place is pricey but this doesn't surprise me, its haagan daz! But i would BEG haagen daz to lower the prices. The same size and container you can get at the store vs a supermarket is 2x as much here. Prices are ridiculously high however this is not a surprise to me. This is probably why so many other locations shut down and haven't survived. Price did not influence my rating as I rated from the view point of someone already aware of the price...
