Hands down the most friendly saltwater dedicated store I have ever been too. Not only friendly, but also very knowledgeable and clean.
Before buying a fish, I make sure of the coloration of the fish as well as their reaction to when feeding.
Almost all fish were very responsive to all the feeding and their coloration are also great.
I'm from NJ and the drive is approximately an hour but coming here coincidently, I am seriously considering on coming here regardless of the commute and the traffic. The prices are some of the lowest I've ever seen and the fish/corals are all in great shape.
I was honestly so surprised when a lot of their SEACHEM and other husbandry products were cheaper than buying from Amazon. You just can't beat the prices here.
Not only that, but Jenny was extremely welcoming and easy to talk to. She seemed genuienly interested in helping me out, finding the fish I want at my price point and..... at the end, even threw in a pack of free fish food.
I urge you other aquarium hobbiests... support this local business. We need more business like them to thrive. They are amazing people... .
I really am not the type to go on and write google reviews unless their experience is either horrific or amazing... To say the least, this has now become my favorite store and I will try my best to come here even from NJ.
PS. Thank you Jenny for helping me great my dream fish!
I am loving my green spotted mandarin, helfrich goby, and the royal gramma. Hope to...
Read moreThis was my first visit but I already love it here! Some areas of this neighborhood can be very hectic with a ton of foot and vehicle traffic, but this was in a quiet residential area. Everyone inside was nice, including the other patrons. It has a very upbeat and friendly vibe. You can tell the people working there love what they do and are passionate about the hobby. There are freshwater planted tanks in the front, along with a lot of equipment and frozen food. In the back are more freshwater fish, and then the saltwater tanks, dominated in the middle by a huge frag tank. The frag tank is arranged in order of price. The prices are VERY reasonable, and the variety is overwhelming. There are more color combinations of zoas than you can count. If you are looking to get started in reef keeping, zoas are an excellent starter coral, and this place can definitely get you going. They also have plenty of larger pieces, as well as lps and sps corals. They also have a great system to help you point out what you want (they give you short acrylic stick so you can point right into the tank, and then they just start bagging up. They even give deals if you buy a certain number. I was also able to get some live pods and they had a nice variety of frozen food. I can't recommend this place enough, especially if you're a...
Read moreI don't know where the negative reviews come from. Seems fake. I've been coming to NYRA for over a year and a half now. They've successfully helped me setup 3 tanks. When I started the hobby, they helped me with a common Fluva Evo 13.5. This naturally progressed into a Red Sea 300xl and a year later, I purchased a Red Sea Reefer 525 G2.
The staff are amazing and I've received nothing but sound advice. It seems like everyone thinks that this hobby is a set it and forget it but it truly is not. There are a lot of ups and downs. I feel fortunate enough to be able to find a shop that is able to individually cater to my needs - both good and bad. They have a wide selection of corals from that range in all grades and is able to suite just about anyone's budget.
Their in-home services are truly "White Glove" and they specialize in unique, one of a kind builds as well as incredibly rare livestock. The advice, patience and guidance that I've received since starting this hobby is what keeps me going back. This space is incredibly competitive and there is always going to be someone who offers something -- if it's too good to be true,...
