Read moreComing here, I didn’t expect people to be overly friendly or welcoming, and that’s fine. But what’s not okay is the lack of basic helpfulness when someone has followed all the necessary steps.
I came in to upgrade my permit/New York State ID to a REAL ID. I had all the required documents, filled out the form upon arrival, and began the intake process. Once I completed the application, I was given a ticket number and told to wait to be called. The wait wasn’t long. I had my photo taken at booth 21 and was told to be seated to continue the process.
Shortly after, booth 3 called my number. When I approached, the woman there asked if I was there to take a photo. I explained I had already taken one at booth 21. She responded that the system must have missed it but said she would “put me through.” I sat back down as instructed.
But then, my number seemed to stall in the system. I was U0028, and by now they were calling people in the late 30s. I returned to booth 3 to explain that I had already taken my photo, and while my number was sent there, I hadn't been called since. The woman was quick to dismiss me and didn’t take my ticket to check or confirm anything. I tried to explain, but she wouldn’t hear me out.
Frustrated and unsure of where I stood in line, I approached an employee walking toward the staff-only area. He asked if I might have missed my number being called. I told him I hadn’t—I had followed the process exactly, and even went to both booths when directed. Thankfully, booth 20 was finally able to help me and explained that my number had been closed out.

Read moreThe women will give you a hard time when you coming to take a test for the CDL permit. Very rude and distasteful. If you call them out on their behavior they try to deny your services and then if that don’t work they come scanning you down as a form of disrespect making it seem as if your trying to cheat on the test because they are rude and disrespectful and think they about to talk to a grown adult any type of way. Never in my life seen and dealt with this kind of behavior from DMV workers. They gang up and be on some weird stuff can’t even handle your business in peace! Very horrible workers here!!
UPDATE: I came here yesterday 8/5/2025. I asked the lady that’s sitting at the table by the kiosk machine for a pen to borrow to fill out my application not keep. I literally was gonna give it right back and honestly it’s the DMV they are supposed to provide you with pens to fill out paperwork. This lady had the ordacity to tell me she don’t have a pen when she had a cup full so I proceed to say but you have one right here she gone say back extremely smart and nasty “ those are for me” I can’t believe she did all that about a pen that I was gonna give right back. But luckily I checked my bag and I had a pen. These workers come to work in a customer service field and treat people terrible for no reason at all. This behavior is unacceptable every time I come here these workers up here are rude and nasty to people!
